No, don't go on her computer without her knowledge. Even I know not to do that. If you ever want to get your daughter to hate your guts for the next three life times, go ahead. Having said that, get her mom to do it, instead............lololololol. If it ever comes back to you. Deny, deny, deny............... |
Yeah that is super creeper stalker alert ... going into girlfriend's daughters computer will not end well lol ... But +100 for CrunchyRoll subscription! If all she's been watching is lower quality half-assed uploaded YouTube clips with a thousand ads then CR is definitely what will "blow her mind", their library is huge and all high quality and very up-to-date with the new releases. |
Maybe a Christmas card saying "Merry Christmas here's your Login and PW for CR" and you can pair it with a figurine. |
Crunchy Roll sounds like something from a sushi restaurant :troll: |
Maybe Obsideon can name a new roll the Crunchyroll lawls, make it the RS special. Doubling down on the subscription option. I'd be ecstatic if that was gifted to ME today, let alone a 15 year old girl that has just opened the wide world of anime with a limited budget. |
There are crunchy rolls at some places tho :lol don't know which came first tho, the site or the sushi, but the site based their name off of sushi |
RS, I am disappoint Spoiler! |

Try getting her the whole manga series of Monogatari or which ever she's into. |
Next time she's watching it just ask her what it is. Then start an old man ramble about how shows were better back in your day, "We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones..." |
I’ve always said, RS needs a third button. Thanks, Fail, and WTF? Not good or bad, just fucking way out in left field or in the Gamma Quadrant. |

Anime shows are a personal preference so it'll be a harder one to buy for. In addition, her own personal perception of how loud or quiet she wants to be about her interest in anime also plays a factor. 1. Subscription to an anime source would be a great reasonable pick as a general gift that would get used and could allow her to try more shows (old and new). 2. Figurine would be another good option as those are expensive typically but can be kept at home. (SAKURA MEDIA as one of the options you could call to get recommendations over the phone). Nice people. 3. Maybe a pro-photoshoot in Japanese clothing or Anime clothing. 4. Although a long shot, a IOU for a trip to Japan (maybe as a family?) in the future once it's safe to travel. Good luck on your hunt! |
My niece and nephew (a little younger) loves stuff that you could wear. My niece loves her UA (my hero academia) shirt. My sons have the attack on titans green capes. |
I was at Sakura Media today. I asked the people there about Vampire Anime and they looked at me like .......... Spoiler! I forgot the name of the series, "Bakemonogatari," at the time. They might have clued in, but......... BTW, monogatari means story or tale. Bakemono is ghost/monster/spirit. One that changes. Anyway............. |
