WB to release all 2021 movies on HBO Max same day as theatrical release
 

This is pretty huge! I assume they'll do something for Canada, but maybe the state of theatres will be different there.

Theatres are still mostly open here - Wonder Woman is set to release on Dec 18, which is a few days after the 2 week closure that just took place

Hope you're right, but probably not, given our absolutely shitty CRTC system here, ala Crave, and all the other garbage methods they use to segment releases between Canadian Network providers.

Fuck I hate my HBO Crave, I should just register a US CC and get the real HBO Max.

Yeah over the years I've noticed how you guys get screwed when it comes to TV deals... You can't even get WWE Network if you wanted! You'd have to get a cable package that includes it! FailFish

Considering HBO Max is US only these movies are going to be pirated pretty heavily I imagine.

They'll still be released in theatres internationally (and domestically, depending on state regulations)

But yeah piracy may be bigger since day 1 releases will be broadcast quality (in some cases 4K)
