About a month ago, ran into this scum on skytrain. I don't normally take skytrain so I am not sure if this is frequent occurrence but as I was getting out of skytrain, this guy asked me if I was Japanese and before I had chance to answer, he said I am next and he'll shoot me dead. If this happened elsewhere, I probably would've just shrugged it off and walked away, but it happened so close to elderly relative's home. I kept distance enough and called 911 leading up to his arrest as I followed him when he ran away. Shit like this isn't just happening in south of the border but at our very own backyard...

I was in Philippines a few years ago with my father. We were sitting listening to two fat white guys, one of which proudly worked as a manager at Walmart. Both were talking about their love of Trump, and how Filipino hookers are money-hungry scammers and that they call them "Big daddy" when they come to town, all the while a young Filipino girl is sitting silently with them at their table.

I turned to my father and said loudly, "I hate when these garbage people come from first world countries to talk so disparagingly about the locals", while turning around to the both of them.

They both said nothing, and eventually got up and left.

I went to visit a friend's sister at her large European owned multinational company, fancy building where they made like $400 a month working 6 days a week with a, get this, Aston Martin dealership in the bottom of it... so not only do they pay them shit but they make them walk by cars that are worth more than 10 of their lives combined to their oppressors... but I ended up sitting at a restaurant next door with my friend and a bunch of (of course) white executives were sitting there laughing about where to holiday in the summer because it's too hot there and I was like "Do you guys ever feel ashamed of yourselves that your company comes here, transplants you in on a paid vacation with a hefty salary and pads their bottom line making all the locals slave away for nothing while you sit here and laugh about where your next holiday is going to be? I am also gonna share a story from a vacation.

My family and I went on a Carnival cruise from Orlando to the Bahamas back in the day one summer as a teenager.

For some reason, the cruise ship had assigned seating for guests for all meals.

My family sat with a family of Americans for all our meals. A family from the South. North Carolina.

The head of that family, a white senior, shook hands with my Dad to introduce himself and his family.


We had good conversations between my family and their family about our vacation, the Bahamas, etc. We shared stories about life in Canada and the US.

I was a bit shocked. -heard stories about the US South being full of racist people.

Boy, was I wrong. Maybe as a young guy I thought the North Carolina family would wear their KKk hoods and gowns to dinner. :lawl:

There were no micro-aggressions from that North Carolina family. No questions about “Where are you really from??” or questions about race, skin colour, Or stereotypes.

None.

The family of North Carolina were curious about our Canadian health care system and our weather in BC.

My parents explained to the white family that universal healthcare is good in Canada. The weather can be rainy on the west coast.

However, we explained to the North Carolina family we do not live in igloos with heavy snow.

Oh...kay, not sure what you're getting at with that story no one here is saying all Americans or even Americans from the South are racist. In fact some of the most hospitable people I know are Southern Americans.
