I watched the third period. Typical Canucks defensive meltdown.
The Jets were leading 5-4 to start the third period.
Bad turnovers during a Canucks powerplay led to an odd man rush for the Jets.
They score on a 2 on 1. Lazy forwards. No forwards came back to back check.
Canucks give up another short handed goal.
When Kyle Connor gets a third period goal
to complete a hat trick, that was one of the signs of the Jets running over our Canucks.
Myers and OEL were a minus 3 each after this game. Kuz, Petey, Dries, Miller, Garland etc were all minus players after this game when you look at the box score.
New year. Same awful defence for this team.

They don't need to quietly tank when both of their current starting goalies are career AHLers. With that and the horrible D this road trip they are on is going to be very interesting.

The Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League traded Shane Wright to the Windsor Spitfires on Monday night, the team confirmed.
The Frontenacs acquired forward Ethan Miedema, defenceman Gavin McCarthy and seven OHL priority selections from the Spitfires in return.
Kingston also sent a conditional 14th-round pick in 2025 to the Spitfires.
Wright, 19, had been re-assigned to the Frontenacs by the Seattle Kraken on Jan. 6, fresh off of his triumph with Canada at the World Junior Championship.
Wright had four goals and three assists for Canada at the World Juniors.
Taken with the fourth-overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Wright has so far split the current season between the Kraken and their American Hockey League affiliate Coachella Valley Firebirds where he scored four times in five games.
In eight games with the Kraken, Wright has registered a goal and an assist in 2022-23, his debut NHL campaign.

I'm watching the Pittsburgh feed and the commentary is actually pretty good. Usually on these local broadcasts they are total homers to the point of being obnoxious. They cheer their guys for sure, but are totally fair and observant.  | |
