That's gotta be one of the most certain things in radio, you're going to get fired at some point but the fact they fired everyone at the same time is kind of nuts.

I don't listen to Radio anymore though, even in my truck my phone and flash drive have my entire music library so no need.

whitev70r 06-29-2022 01:46 PM

^ that may be the reason ...very few people listen to radio and DJ's are obsolete now with Spotify.

lilaznviper 06-29-2022 01:58 PM

i listen to them in the morning driving to work. after work i just put on my spotify playlist.

Hondaracer 06-29-2022 02:06 PM

The only radio that ever survives is CBC with all their programming about how the white man is the devil

JDMDreams 06-29-2022 02:23 PM

Yea I don't listen to the radio but what's the back story?

68style 06-29-2022 02:28 PM

Well... 94.5 and 95.3 have been around as long as I can remember... 30 years

blkgsr 06-29-2022 02:28 PM

99.3 jeff oneil show in the morning and actually right after work on the way to the gym with the other two guys that are kinda funny

xfm and Spotify after that

murd0c 06-29-2022 02:52 PM

The best part is today's numbers are prob the best ratings Kiss FM has ever received

SSM_DC5 06-29-2022 03:45 PM

Getting ready for work today and the drive to work was really confusing not knowing why I kept hearing the same song.

So what station is a good transition away from kiss?

whitev70r 06-29-2022 04:38 PM

The only thing I listen to on the radio is news, traffic, sometimes sports. So basically all talk. Music is spotify.

MG1 06-29-2022 05:03 PM

I listen to News 1130, then the Nat and Drew Show on Move. After that, the rest of the day is Watercolours on Sirius XM, sometimes 70's on 7..

104.9 fired kid carson and his crew back in 2015.

punkwax 06-29-2022 05:55 PM

Radio execs are ruthless these days :lol

Team 1040 played Good Riddance by Green Day when they all got fired.

Sympathy seems to be a thing of the past.. in that industry at least.

And here's the relevant Simpsons clip:

I really miss LG 104.3….. the station still exists under a new name and all it plays is fucking soft dentists waiting room music, it’s awful. Whereas LG played great music all the time (think of rock 101 on a long weekend). They also had the LG blues lounge most nights after 10pm and just played real bangers.

Pour one out

LG 104.3 was awesome. When it was running, it reminded my dad of LG73 (AM 730) back in the 80s
I listened to QMFM when i was young and i listened less when they changed Mike & Tara to Nat & Drew. Which was approximately when i found LG 104.3 on air.
I love 70s-80s bangers, and 90s-00s are pretty nostalgic now

MG1 06-30-2022 04:32 AM

OMFG!! CKLG 73 back in the 60's "Boss 40."

Around the time the Beattles came to Vancouver, LG, which btw, stands for Lions Gate, became the most listened to radio station in Vancouver. The then young, MG1 collected the weekly top 40 pamphlets they produced. They were available at record stores. I went to Kelly's Records Store on Granville Street religiously to get the latest copy. I have stacks of them stored away.

I was also a QMFM listener. Rock 101, too..........

You can tell what age group RS is now vs before LOL

I listen to 104.9 in the morning just for Sonia and Kevin. They have really good back and forth and their topics were quite funny and a lot of times just on the edge of what can be played on the radio. But once they're off their air its Podcast/Apple Music, there's no need to stay with the radio.

StylinRed 06-30-2022 06:51 AM

Haven't listened to the radio since high school, and even then not really as it was mostly my mix cds/mp3s :lol

murd0c 06-30-2022 08:29 AM

So this was a total stunt, Sonic FM took over the station. What a smart movie tho, even The Rolling Stone reported about it.

RiceIntegraRS 06-30-2022 08:45 AM

Im listening to 107.7 now, nice blend of old top 40 with 90s. And early 2000s. I also only listen to kevin n sonia in the mornings and that was it
