Hobz is a genius. I parked for two hours and it was like $7.50 or some shit. Skipped the parking lot chaos altogether.
We went kinda early, so it was less of a zoo. I'm sure had we gone around 8-9pm it would have been a sea of people, a sea of c-lais if you will. The folks were impressed with the level of CNY decoration since this shit doesn't really happen in Calgary lol. We enjoyed some good food and then called it a night.
I absolutely do not miss having to be waiting around for hours to be on stage to do the countdown bullshit. In the past, my entire day would have been spent on this crap. No more!
yah man, the answer to any chinese problems is to throw money at it. Most are so god damn cheap even the thought of spending money on parking when IT COULD BE FREE will result in a massive Chinese heartattack...
We went to Sun Sui Wah richmond last night and that entire lot was full. I took one loop around and parked on the street a mere 5 steps from the front door. Paid 11 bucks for 3hours of parking but whatever, beats circling like a retard. My brother in law and his wife was circling for a full 30 minutes before they found a spot and it was all the way on the other side, next to that korean bread place / bigway hotpot.
Yeah the entrance to Aberdeen parking lot from Cambie road was a shit show when we arrived lol. Didn't feel like spending 30-60 mins looking for a parking spot.
I think we booked our dinner tonight about a week ago. It helps if you are familiar with the staff. They'll find a way to squeeze you in if you're a regular customer.
Me and my wife went early for dinner at a nearby restaurant we frequent. They cleared a table for us just in time, but otherwise, the restaurant was fully booked and packed by the time we left. Any walk-ins were SOL.
Mom works at a restaraunt. She said they aren't doing walk ins at all. No reservation? Sorry there's not going to be a table even if you are willing to wait.
