Le Mans 2023 Starts up this weekend! This is the first time in years I've been following Le Mans, used to watch it, then it kind of got boring. This year we have the new classes, some of the hypercars look pretty sick. But what really piqued my interest the most is Hendrick Motorsports running a Next Gen car, driven by Jenson Button and Jimmy Johnson. Supposedly it's running faster than AMGTE class cars by a couple seconds. This picture of the field is pretty comical: https://i.redd.it/dn7kbtdcts4b1.jpg |
Can't wait to see how this plays out, apparently it's really fast. |
This is also the last season for the factory Corvette Racing Team! Sad to hear. They will focus on customer cars moving forward. They had a crash in the practice run the other day. Side note: I know F1 has more drama and has its own dedicated thread on RS but WEC and IMSA come out top for me when it comes to good racing. Not enough love for WEC & IMSA. :okay: |

https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/...84/763/e8c.jpg I'm pretty excited about this year's race especially with the stock car running in it - love Jimmie Johnson and that car seems like it's a blast to drive. Where is it showing on TV this week? |
Wtf. That camero and m8 looks comical |

Also when doing a driver swap, they have to go through the door opening as the doors are fixed like a real nascar |

The sporadic rain has made things spicy, really wish they have the garage 56 car at least a little bit of tv time though. |

Gooooo Toyota !!! / Ferrari |
Other link is down. This is up but is in french. This is just audio from the studio I am muting the first one and using the audio from the second one. |
Watching a stock car go around at night is awesome. Racing viagra right there. |
This has been one of the most entertaining Le Mans I've watched in years. The Hypercar class was a good move to increase Toyota's competition. |
5 years of Toyota dominance is nuts. That’s a long ass winning streak |
|
Good for Ferrari. Sad Gazooo couldn’t make it another victory but 5 years is amazing considering the last time a Japanese manufacturer won was Mazda in the 90s Surprising Cadillac racing did so well. Nicely done GM. |
Good race! Americans had a good showing this year, Cadillac 3rd and 4th in hypercar, Corvette winning GTE AM,. And NASCAR Camaro finishing (needed a transmission change along the way, but still impressive) |
Great race indeed. A+ for Corvette to close out their final season in WEC. Great to see Cadillac on the podium. I loved seeing them at the IMSA races so this was the cherry on top. Congrats to Ferrari on the win. Now if only their F1 team would be as good with strategy. :inoutugh: Tough luck for Toyota but they pushed through in car #8. Porsche - better luck next time. :lol |
Wanted Toyota to win but P2 ain't bad, especially after P1 for 5 years in a row (albeit with little to no competition) and it was great seeing 3 different manufacturers on the podium! Getting rid of LMP1 and replacing it with Hypercar class was definitely a good move. Thought Porsche would make it an interesting fight but yeah... LOL |
Would be nice to see some more Japanese contenders like Nissan and Mazda come back to WEC. |
Honda is in IMSA with their Acura LMDh... maybe they'll be swayed to enter WEC/Le Mans |
Will be great to see even Bugatti, McLaren, Aston Martin on the hyper car grid. one entertaining race. Good on Ferrari for pulling through and amazing effort for the Camaro to finish! |
