All I have to say is, if you have to give credit to where it's due, I'm still somewhat in disbelief that Trump got this done. Even if this is all he got done, the return of the 20 living hostages, and all the remains of the dead ones for what 1800 Palestinian prisoner exchange ... that's a pretty big deal. No one else was able to.

Whether the peace deal will last or not , we shall see. The children of this gen of Palestinians will grow up with some deep hate on the Israelies. One Battle after Another says, it will come back in another shape and form.

I was watching this on Saturday:

and even though I was more or less expecting it, seeing it still left a pretty strong impact.

Perhaps Hamas is really at the end of their wits in Gaza right now, so they are really quite close to having no viable options left? And their leaders are getting murdered even when they are outside of Gaza -- in Qatar, for example.

I continue to have zero trust in Netanyahu, and I remain very skeptical the ceasefire will last. The way I look at it is -- Netanyahu saw a good opportunity to get the hostages back, so he seized it. It was as much for his own good as it was for him to do Trump a favour (in agreeing to a ceasefire).

We will see whether the ceasefire lasts.

westopher 10-14-2025 09:59 AM

Israel is already being accused of withholding aid. Hamas beheading “traitors” publicly. War will be back on within the week.
The civilians want peace. Those in power aren’t interested.

Funny how Chinese proverbs are getting brought up left and right here, but it reminds me of this one

神仙打架,凡人遭殃

It means the gods are having a spat, and mortals suffer.

All this talk about hostages and no one seems to mention the amount of Palestinians that Israel has taken as hostages over the last decade under the guise of “law and order.”
People who have been imprisoned indefinitely without any sort of trial or legal proceeding.
Hamas is a terrorist organization, that much I believe, but it’s time to label the IDF as the same thing. The only difference is they are provided weaponry by the US instead of Iran.

I noticed the massive discrepancy right away when they released some of the terms of the hostage/prisoner exchange.

westopher 10-15-2025 07:49 AM

There has been a notable gap in the language used by media on how they portray Israelis compared to Palestinians. The “less than” approach when using empathetic language for Palestinian victims of violence has been dehumanizing in even the most left leaning mainstream media channels.

Maybe this article will help you, bro.

"Canada listed Hamas as a terrorist entity under the Criminal Code in November 2002. It is a criminal offence to knowingly participate in or contribute to any activity of Hamas. Canada has also listed the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades and other groups as terrorist organizations under Canadian legislation, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1373 (2001). The Government of Canada has no contact with these groups."

I thought you disagreed with the Canadian government on everything Mr sovereign citizen.

JDMDreams 10-15-2025 07:51 PM

But did the Palestine say thank you?

CivicBlues 10-15-2025 09:40 PM

Jesus, you people can't even take the good news of returning hostages/prisoners and cease fire in stride?

They're killing each other - :swear:
They've stopping killing each other for a few days - :swear:

I can only hope these are the first steps towards a lasting state when we can all collectively go back to ignoring whatever it is the fuck these savages do to each other again.

westopher 10-15-2025 09:55 PM

Still withholding aid. Still killing. No consequences. But hey, rejoice for the week long fall vacation!

Traum 10-19-2025 08:02 AM

And whaddaya know? Israel is once again claiming militants have fired at their troops in southern Gaza, but no injuries have been reported. So IDF is responding with airstrikes and artillery fire, killing a bunch of Palestinians (<10 at the time when I am writing this, according to the news I've read.)

All of this miraculously happened after all the still alive hostages and some of the deceased ones have been returned.

Has it even been a week?

Fxxk you, Netanyahu.

mikemhg 10-19-2025 11:06 AM

What a surprise!

I'm so tired of the media falling over themselves to give flowers to Trump for brokering this joke of a peace deal, I feel like I'm in Lala land.

How hard is it to broker a peace deal when the enemy is already dead?

68style 10-19-2025 01:48 PM

Everything I read re: analysis of said "peace deal" not filled with platitudes for dementia president said that world leaders were all extremely concerned with the lack of anything resembling a plan or substance... like... PEACE DEAL... okay but then how do you maintain it? Who's in charge of a wide variety of rebuild and monitoring situations? Who's coordinating efforts for relief? Zero actual efforts on how to deal with the after part.

What do you mean by: "Zero actual efforts on how to deal with the after part"?

The USA, Egypt, and other international countries(Indonesia, UAE, Qatar and Azerbaijan) have formed an International Stabilization Force (ISF) to help transition from wartime to peacetime. It is the first phase of many. As the IDF withdraws, the ISF takes over the governance. The ISF is a “temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee.”

68style 10-19-2025 04:46 PM

Besides the fact it’s failing spectacularly as we speak? This addresses your wishful thinking:

“Another problem with the Trump plan is the international stabilisation force (ISF), which it says will be composed of troops from regional states and other Muslim countries, and will assume responsibility for Gaza’s security after the IDF hands over the areas it leaves. The plan offers no details on the size of this peacekeeping force, the scope of its responsibilities and the means it will use to contain disorder, whether from clashes between Hamas and Israel or violence pitting Hamas against armed groups (some rival clans, others backed by Israel), something that has already occurred. Plus, though a few states have signalled their interest, none has yet committed to providing troops for the ISF – perhaps because of these looming dangers

Bromigo, are you hoping it fails? Also, what is the source for what you quoted?

Egypt is expected to lead a four-nation Gaza “stabilisation” force envisaged by US President Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan for the war-devastated enclave, sources told The National on Sunday.

They said the International Stabilisation Force will be made up of at least 4,000 troops from Egypt, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Indonesia. Egypt, in collaboration with the US, will be seeking a UN Security Council resolution establishing the force and spelling out its mandate, they added.

The proposed force will be working alongside an estimated 3,000 Palestinians nominated by the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority. The Palestinians will take charge of intelligence-gathering and preventive security in Gaza, said the sources. Some of them have already been trained by Egypt and Jordan.

Included in the mandate of the proposed force is overseeing the establishment of field hospitals to compensate for the significant damage sustained by the territory's health facilities. It's also mandated to repair bakeries and other vital infrastructure sites.

The audacity to fund and provide all the weapons and tech to a country to beat the fuck out of the other country and then come along and proclaim yourself saviour of said country you assisted in the pummelling of. True bunch of assholes. I see why you support his actions now, so much in common on that front.

Is it that hard to post a link to your source? I found it. It is an opinion column from The Guardian. Thanks for quoting an opinion piece that happens to align with your personal view?

You made the claim that: "Zero actual efforts on how to deal with the after part." That is clearly not true and now you are backtracking, bro. I didn't know pointing this out suddenly makes me a "trump supporter" :lol What a lapse of judgement.
