First time ever was family buying some commercial real estate and the seller requested one thing: to be paid in cash. It might sound weird for people growing up here in Canada where our financial institutions and central banks are quite trustworthy.

But this was in South America. So, albeit not all that common either, it’s not outside of the norm. Went with dad and uncle to bank. They hand them 2 duffle bags and they carried one each. Left the bank by the rear door and into our “taxi” as my dad called it. 1200 dollar for 20min ride in an armor truck with 4 dudes armed with assault rifles to the seller’s lawyer’s office. Once in the conference room, my dad took them out. And told me each of these plastic wrap is a million dollar and some loose stacks to make up the total price.

And that’s when I was surprised how small a mil actually was.

Reminds me of this lol:

lol at 14:00 this guy radios for someone to just go ahead and shoot at him via the windshield. just for a demo. doesn't flinch. these people are frickin badasses.

Lol.

I have mentioned it before. But I think it's good to bring it up again.

My parents are doing quite well by most standard. Their net earning after tax is easily 7-figures.

Unfortunately (for me and my brother that is), they got brainwashed by this foundation in Taiwan where they should pledge most of their wealth away. So for the most part, their income goes into a few charity work they are into.

Thus, me and my brother are just normies. I think I do alright. Meaning I can buy some toys, a vacation or two a year and don't worry about food and shelter. But that's about it.

We are quite fortunate because when we have the level of access to the circle that my parents are in, it makes a lot of things in business easier and we are forever grateful for that. But our parents philosophy is simple. They became millionaires on their own. Their kids should do that too.

So, other than paying our education and also setting up education trust funds that are for our kids, there's no money from my parents.

They are the ballers. Not me. :fuckthatshit:

It's all relative - on RS, you are a baller. But since you've seen some of the people your parents hang out with, you feel like they are the ballers.

It truly is all relative isn't it. For a lot of my working life specifically white co workers think I'm balling but I've never been but the circumstances of our lives make it seem like I am to them. It's usually because they grew up having moved out when they're like 19 having to pay rent, their own food and stuff while not having much left over. Going to Cactus club once a month is a treat for them, getting a second hand 2nd phone is a treat. Meanwhile here I was still living at home because being Chinese that was the norm. Not having to pay for rent, food and really aside from buying my own toys, maybe paying for my cell phone all my income could be used to buy the newest phone, go dine at fancy restaurants etc. Does that make me baller? Definitely not but in perspective to them I guess.

We were in a group setting and real estate came up and one of my buddies nonchalantly said, "Oh, I only have one house". And I immediately said, "Oh you ONLY have one $2.5M detached house in Vancouver with a double garage, driveway, and a two-bedroom rental suite"

We all laughed, and while many of us have detached houses, many have townhouses or condos, and some have no real estate at all, they're renting. So everything is relative for sure.

Bahahaha... truly speaking, super riches are all quite normal usually.

However, everyone's got their dark side. And I've heard some weird shit that's too fucked up even as a sci-fi/horror movie. They'd splurge quite a bit of their wealth for those weird stuff.

One of these "uncles" that I have has a thing for young chicks. Like, not sickly underage... but let's just say barely legal.

He has never been married. But has 3 kids with 3 different ladies. Now on his 4th one, the daughter of one of his employees. When I met her a year or so back... damn... I could be her dad if I was fucked up enough. And there she was... a young hot chick barely out of teens and pregnant with my "uncle's" fourth child.

The truly fucked up part? The girl's parent has been an employee for over a decade. So he basically saw her grow up. I was like :rukidding::seriously::fulloffuck:

Yeah Jeffery epistine type shit. I’ve seen those dudes at the port galas. Walking around with their 20 year old “girlfriends” when they are like 60 year old.

It’s cool for a moment then you realize that old fucker is porking her and you are like uhhhhj I ain’t shaking your hand anymore.

I tried to have a conversation with one of these bimbos before and it didn’t go well. The old man stepped in and said literally to my face why the fuck are you bothering to talk to them. They are idiots, just a piece of meat. She didn’t even looked phased. I’m pretty sure he tells everyone that.

:lol

What's with rich guys always trying to pass off as a normal pleb?

Giving/receiving 40k in red pockets isn't "normal" in any sense of the word. Nor is having a trust fund from ma and pa.

This is what 8888 looks like in a red pocket. In-laws just gave it back to us today and I took a shot before dropping it off at bank to show how thin money is when brand new. Same bills I got from the bank, just a different red pocket.

:fuckthatshit:

Sounds like you just laundered $8888 .... :lol.
