I mean the all-star game is best on best as well, but they just don't take it seriously... attaching a flag to it somehow changes the mentality lol

pride in one's country is always a lot more important than any meaningless all-star format lol. especially now given the political environment. this is basically the perfect storm for the NHL to profit from such a series. players and the public have been starved for nearly a decade, politics is all fucked up, and the two countries with the most tension between each other are facing off in the finals.

even before all this tariff bullshit, people would still occasionally reminisce about 2010 and the golden goal on twitter and other platforms.

Yah, whatever format of revenue sharing from this, I think the NHL will milk it. 100x better than All-Stars.

I hadn't seen actual ticket prices but there was a news story about some fans saying it's sky high

Always the case. Players can't half-ass it even if they really tried. I would say it's not even a fun or relaxing tournament for the players. Hence why fans are saying 4 nations is 1000x better than the all-star game.

From an owner and teams' perspective they rather look at the bigger picture, and that is the final push for playoffs.

I noticed the Canucks only have 4 Canadians on the roster.. No wonder they suck!

If the reports of the Miller v Petey situation are true, Quinn was the one that complained to management about him calling Petey the f-word and insisted they do something about it.. and he's been the most vocal supporter for LGBTQ issues as well.

I feel like he's in a tough place where most of his best friends probably are Trumpers (ie: the Tkachuk brothers) but he seems like he has his headspace a little more on the caring side of things.

Everyone loves Miller the "player" vs Miller the "person." Reminds me of Rylan Kelser. ahha.

Yea, that first period had some really bad poke checks and he was way out of position. But absolutely locked it down in OT.

Still need better options for Olympics though
