Circuit Stickers I had a debate with a friend of mine over when you can put a circuit sticker on your car. A - If you've driven the circuit B - If that car has been on the circuit (with you driving) C - Never, they are lame D - Whenever, no need to be uptight about it. Thoughts? |
I'm in the no need to be uptight about it camp. It's neat to see fellow track enthusiasts put circuit decals on their car or helmet if they've driven it. It makes for an easy conversation starter. Otherwise, it's not a big deal to me. For what it's worth, I don't have any circuit decals on my car or helmet, and have no plans to. I don't need my insurance company catching me red handed. :D |

I have a ring sticker on the M3, but I drove the ring with it so it counts I should put one on my helmet. |
D They're wayyyyy down the list of things to worry about. The Stanley Park ones someone made up a while back were hilarious though. |
I had Donk make me VIMC 5x, Mission 5x and will have to get Ridge 5x made in anticipation of when I "unlock" it. I have trouble remembering the number of track days I've done. I was supposed to do a write up on my 10th track day, to memento what I've learned so far. Don't brake on a hill is a big one. And when in doubt throttle out is most definitely true. Also cool down laps are important, not only for engine but also brakes. I haven't put it in yet, but I can put on VIMC 5x and Mission 5x as of this year. Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk |
Glad we're not so uptight about it. I change cars every few years each time I think about putting some stickers on the back but feel like a poser. Maybe putting them on the helmet as you guys say is the way to go. @Bic - You say don't brake on a hill.. why? VIMC might be hard to navigate like that. |

I think you're supposed to ideally brake right as the car compresses for the uphill part of Ebisu. @kodamu pls confirm |
You have to brake and shift the weight and momentum BEFORE you go down the hill. Braking on the hill will upset the balance of the vehicle and then all sorts of things happen. Same thing happened to me at CTMP at Turn 2a going down 2b. |
