Buy BC / Canadian is a Circle Jerk

Clickbait title for attention. Something that Donk said here drove me to reach out to my contacts to see if we have any government associations/programs for Buying Canada / BC. I get that buying local and supporting your local economy is easier said than done. Coming from a marketing background, I understand how important it is to make it easy for people. Here are some of the items I have dug up.

I would like to use this thread as a way for all of us to support local, in any way we can. Similarly to the VI issue, I'm not an expert in this field, but I won't just sit down and take it. I'll do my part in whatever way I can. Like I said in the Trump thread - this is not a win. We need to support local and push for diversifying trading partners.

I'll be updating the OP as I continue to find resources for this initiative.

Business Owners

Here is a link from Trade Commissioner Services containing resources for funding, contacts, trade missions & events, etc. If you need any help in this area, reach out.

BC Cybersecurity Industry
I'm currently managing an initiative to showcase export-ready BC cybersecurity companies and help promote them on a global scale.

We'll be displaying this asset map and directory at WebSummit in May and it'll be used on trade missions, export directories, and trade commissioners, etc.

If this sounds relevant to you or someone you know, shoot me a DM!

Also if you have an interest in doing business in Mexico or Singapore, we're doing a trade mission there in late March.

Consumers
I asked Global Affairs Canada for resources on Canadian made, Canadian owned companies, who suggested Made in Canada and said that it shows details of mfg location and ownership. I haven't personally vetted this and I was going to make a spreadsheet showing specifically Canadian made products, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

There's also BuyBC and GrowBC (no, not what you're thinking of) which focuses on the BC agricultural industry.
