I've tried about 5 different masks and have only successfully had 1 stay on my face for an entire night...once. All the other times I don't think I've lasted more than 1 hour on my face but that one time was GREAT.

Ok, I'm going to try give it a shot again. And yeah, most of the "sleep clinics" will rip you off if you buy machines/masks from them. Buying online is much much cheaper.

Followed by funeral homes, plots, and where to get the best caskets and headstone materials.

Off topic but if you invested $500K into plots in Vancouver instead of a 1bed condo back in 2015 you'd be laughing.

Speaking of this - what are the options for a Chinese speaking assisted living facility? I just tried Googling for Vancouver assisted living facilities and they all looks super white.

It's gone to a damn monoply by Dignity. Used to be independent funeral homes but now Dignity practically gobbled them all up.

Most people are going with cremation now. And there are some pretty reasonable ones Simple Cremation ~$1000.

Badhobz 09-16-2025 01:53 PM

Ah ha ! Big friggin funeral. I told you toys this shit is a scam.

Find me a dumpster, roll my corpse in it, and set it on fire. Or just put me in a beetle and set it on fire. Good way to dispose of two utterly trash things in one go.

SSM_DC5 09-16-2025 01:54 PM

SUCCESS has multiple levels of care. Assisted living, long-term care etc.

Villa Cathay has long term care, I don't know if they have assisted living too.

Both cater to Chinese community in terms of activities offered, languages spoken by staff, food offerings.

Don't do CPAP just because you snore and are having bad sleep.

Yes, they might help. But ultimately, you need to get down to the root of the problem.

I'd had severe snoring problem for most of my adult life. It's gotten so bad that chicks I slept with couldn't bare. So I went through several clinics and what have you.

First, it was CPAP. It helped but I hated it with a passion. It just didn't give me a very comfortable sleep.

Then a full sleep clinic at one of the best in Taiwan... they thought the issue was my habit of mouth breathing. Hence suggested mouth tape (when on the go as I traveled often) or a full head band to prevent the mouth breathing. It helped tremendously, but still wasn't perfect.

Finally, where I discovered totally by accident. I was taking some vocal lessons as a way to encourage my kids to take it too as they were gifted (as per their coach) but were afraid of taking lessons and sing in front of strangers. The coach noticed something weird when doing some routine warm up breathing exercise with the way I breath with my nose (making some noise when it shouldn't). Went to an ENT specialist to discovered that I was born with some fucked up nose canal causing near constant inflammation and shit. I undergone a surgery to have it fixed. No more inflammation, no more weird breathing problem, no more mouth breathing habit and most importantly, no more snoring and more energetic than ever.

Of course, YMMV. But what I wanted to say was that CPAP isn't a miracle device if you don't get down to the root of the problem. It merely makes the problem less severe.

i've been tired for as long as i can remember. done blood work, multiple sleep tests. Times 1-4 were all fails, 5th finally gave enough results to constitute some results.

i have mild to moderate sleep apnea depending if i'm on my side or back. 8-16 episodes and i believe my O2 levels dropped into the mid lower 70's

i can go try the machine for a 30 day trial but like many others i don't want to rely on that thing.

i'm 40 and healthy, far from overweight. eat well, gym 4-5 times a week, not much alcohol to speak of.

what i have notices is "difficulty" or restriction in breathing through my nose. my doctor just gave me a nasal spray so i'm going to see how that works. waiting for an ent referal

has anyone tried the various mouth pieces? like Airwaav or z.comfort?

my issue isn't snoring, so i'm wondering if those would help or not

Badhobz 09-17-2025 06:55 AM

i think its a fucking scam. like i said, everyone has some sort of sleep apnea, millions of people have it, millions more are undiagnosed. if thats the case then there should be way more people dying in their sleep.

roastpuff 09-17-2025 09:39 AM

We're overpopulated anyways, just let ppl die eh :s

Badhobz 09-17-2025 09:47 AM

I rather die than have that piece of shit on my face. Remember toys. Call two fire trucks. One isn’t enough to hoist my fat corpse into a beetle.

68style 09-17-2025 09:56 AM

Just have to ask for the non-DEI fire truck

mikemhg 09-17-2025 09:57 AM

I could never imagine sleeping with one of these on your face.

What a turnoff.

MG1 09-17-2025 10:01 AM

Shit............. I'm basically living on my own now. Nobody to check up on me. Oh well, shit happens. Coming up to ten years since the wife passed away.

Made a will a few years ago, jbol.

I guess I can set up a video monitor in the bedroom. Talk about creeping oneself out......... I always suspected being abducted during the night, then remembered it's power naps I take. No time for them bastards to take this wonderful specimen of a human being for experimental purposes.

mikemhg 09-17-2025 10:05 AM

^MG1 you going to come to the Richmond meet next week?

Thanks, but no thanks. Maybe shoot some arrows with you at Brentwood. Have you ever been? I thought it was a toy thing. Not full on, archery but not cowboys and Indians thing. I went with my kids. Half price Wednesdays, if I’m not mistaken.

I’m a very shy guy. I’ve only met RS’rs through the blood drive from decades ago, Operation Revnose, and the Squint Lake mini meet.

Hell ya I'd shoot a beer with you, we go to Earls over there quite often.
