I carry my coins in my back pocket. At the end of the day, the coins go into a piggy bank on my table. I open it up at the end of the year and buy something with it.

The perfect kind

But where else do I put it? My wallet doesn't have a coin section, not that I want to put it in my wallet anyways.

I still carry cash for haircuts, food courts and marketplace deals. Coins are inevitable for me.

The majority of Chinese places are cash only, so it's inevitable to use and have cash on hand, including coins.

I dunno how other people are able to have / carry so few cards. Being the cheapa$$ that I am, there is a loyalty card for pretty much every shop I visit, not to mention several different credit cards with different perks to buy different things. At the end of the day, I'm pretty sure I have well over 20 cards on hand.

Google wallet is a big help, but there are limitations as well. For whatever reason, certain scanners, esp the ones at supermarket self checkout kiosks, are horrible at reading bar codes off the phone's screen. Some wireless tap payments are either horribly bad at reading tap payments with the phone, or for whatever reason just outright refuses to take wireless tap payments from my phone -- I'm talking about you, stupid Chevron pumps! At the end of the day, I'm finding that while I use my phone (ie. Google Wallet) to make payments most of the time, I can't really do away with not carrying the good ol' physical card as a backup.

It's a PITA, but I still end up needing a wallet with lots of card slots.

All the time, at least every 3 days. I go to Crystal Mall for the majority of my groceries, which is cash only most places. I eat at the food court there which is mostly cash only, though there are more and more places that take card.

I live on Victoria Drive, so if I need a quick thing from there it's gonna be cash.

that's fair! idk why when you say you keep your coins in your back pocket i just get this mental image of your jeans being like those 2000 lowrise jeans with the flap pocket and you using it like a coin pouch lol

When I lost my wallet many years ago, and all those random membership cards too, I vowed never again to carry anything except the bare minimum.

I never have issues paying by phone or app, so I just leave the card at home and only grab it when I am going to that place. For example, an IKEA membership card. There's zero reason to carry that one around all the time. Those visits are planned well in advance.

That leaves me with:

DL
2 CCs
debit card
costco card (arguably, I could leave this at home too)
save on foods card (only because that's where we shop mostly, and the self checkouts don't take phone numbers)
compass

That's it.

As for my wallet, I have a Piquadro. Super thin, soft flexible leather. A bit too large dimension-wise, but I can live with it.

I've had this one for years with the cash strap and haven't had any issues with it at all.
