Micron ends Crucial consumer SSD and RAM line, shifts focus to AI and enterprise https://videocardz.com/newz/micron-k...and-enterprise I just spent $500 on a high end motherboard just because it came with 32 gigs or ram. A few months back I was looking at getting 64 gigs of ram for like $250. Now the price is over $900. Fcking crazy. |
$900????? :heckno::rukidding::yuno::drunk::badpokerface: :denied: :seriously::fulloffuck: |
AI companies are buying up literally all the ram |
I sold a 1TB of DDR4-2933 ECC RAM back in August before everything started going up. :heckno: |
Check out bestbuy. You got one out of stock kit for $289. one slow kit on sale for for $576 and a few other kits all over $1200. https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/search?search=64gb+ddr5 |

Im waiting for my case to be in stock and im ready to build. been 11 years since Razor helped me build my current rig. MSI fucked me on the $50 USD steam credit that I was supposed to get with the mobo though. |
As a side note, I noticed that even flash memory cars like SD/microSD cards are insanely expensive now. Last month, I bought a few 128GB SDXC cards for $29. The same exact ones are now $80. :seriously: |
Yeah, the AI demand is also affecting all flash storage since they use NAND flash, although it's not as significant compared to DDR5. Don't know which card you bought, but there should be absolutely no reason a 128GB card should be $80. The Kingston Canvas Go Plus 128GB microSDXC is $30 at Staples and it's a highly rated card. |
Oh snap, my bad. I looked at the wrong item. :fuckthatshit: |
