...seems a little bland, even for a Volvo.

Meanwhile the Polestar 3 is growing on me. Saw one in person today, it looks like a nice wagon.

I don't know why the interior screams Chinese to me (probably because of the two-spoke wheel). The offset digital speedometer also looks kinda funky with the asymmetrical bezels.

Where is the Ohlins?

supafamous 01-22-2026 06:27 PM

That rear quarter/rear hatch is really odd looking.

whitev70r 01-22-2026 06:46 PM

not digging it and I'm a self professed Volvo fan.

That's a $77K car ??!! :ahwow:

JDMDreams 01-22-2026 07:13 PM

Polestar 3 looks so nice, not sure how the interior is.

By 27 just make it in China and charge $45000 :considered:

The equivalent iX3 is around the price, so yeah not out of the blue.

Cars are expensive. When we bought our X3 in 2019 it was 53k before tax well optioned, with discounts. The same car would be at least 65k now new.

twitchyzero 01-22-2026 08:46 PM

well-optioned euro suv was never exactly not expensive
base civic still 30k...add several grand for hybrid

As nice looking as the Volvo is, why does every freaking manufacturer thinks it is necessary to literally re-invent the (steering) wheel?! FailFish

Just gimme a plain and rounding looking steering wheel and call it a day! Something like this would have been perfection!!!

The Civic hybrid is $37k for a sedan, and $39k for a hatch. Of course that is much cheaper than the mid $60k's average price for a new car in Canada. But still... it isn't an amount I can come up with at this point.

bcrdukes 01-23-2026 10:08 AM

The shape reminds me of that Land Rover Evoque.

whitev70r, a Volvo fan, not liking this Volvo. :heckno:

At this point I'm more worried about the software stack vs. the actual hard bits/interior bits on the car. Volvo's been having a lot of troubles in that regard.

radeonboy 01-23-2026 10:33 AM

^How was your experience with the Polestar 4?

Software is the main reason I'm skeptical with new Polestar / Volvo releases.

AstulzerRZD 01-23-2026 10:36 AM

In EU pricing it's 15k euros less than GLC for similar features.
Similar pricing to iX3 but far more features

djstyles 01-23-2026 10:37 AM

The SW in my parents 2022 XC40 Recharge is still buggy and lags out at times but has gotten better in the past 3 years. I would give the experience a 7.5/10, not great but not so bad where I'd want to drive it off a cliff. Their particular model would be considered Gen 1 so the new EX60 would be Gen2??? I would hope there would be some big improvements .

trying to copy xc70 vibes but ends up looking like an ioniq

Polestar 4 was a 7/10, mildly buggy. Was a pre-production model so not penalizing it too much but a bunch of functions that I would expect to be there were not there.

That doesn't seem any more promising than Volvo or Polestar software lol
