So... following this thread should give me enough reasons to completely abandon the idea of getting into an affair, bcos the process is gonna suck so much, and I'll become completely disgusted by it?

Bold of you to think that we'll actually stay on topic, I think modern dating or dating in general is so intertwined with physical and mental wellbeing, that it's hard to disconnect that.

best dating site hands down is Hinge. The rest are complete garbage and the same shit over and over.

I used multiple apps over the years. In the end, they aren't that much different. You'll also find the same people are present across multiple apps so it defeats the purpose entirely because the pool is relatively the same.

Truly ambitious thought from you that you have the financial means and the time to pursue an affair.

Tidbit that some of you may not know: Bumble was created with the goal of flipping the script so that women have to be the one message first. Why? It was meant to show that women who message are actually interested in you.

The irony? On other apps, many women complain that men all say the same things and it's boring and they need to try harder. However, you can't try too hard or you look desperate. Try too little, you're boring. Often times girls had in their profiles "please say something more interesting than Hi". So when it came to girls being the first ones to message men what do you think their first messages contained?

"Hello"

Extra irony? Women complained so much that the app did away with women messaging first and it reverted back to the exact same shit other apps were doing to begin with.

Women hate having their phone blown up by hoards of men but many also revel in the attention. So multiple matches feed their ego but are ultimately meaningless because vast majority of messages from men are ignored. If you're "lucky" enough to get a response, you'll likely be ghosted. This feeds the fantasy that all girls are highly sought after and they have endless options so why "settle" for less than their ideal (top 1-3%) man. You go girl :noyoudidnt:

Hinge has a better reputation of being a more "serious" place to meet someone for a long term relationship. The required questions to fill out in your profile were more geared towards that.

At our age group, I like to think that a lot of people are looking for the same thing so most folks aren't on there to fuck around. But then again, my fiance told me all of her online dating horror stories.

Tons of weirdos and retards on there once you meet up.. so it shouldn't be too difficult to meet someone on there if you're at least a normal person look-wise and personality-wise.

I used Hinge too. I'm telling you from personal experience it wasn't any better than any other app I used prior to that. In the end, apps are just a tool and it depends on how people use it. So yes, apps can work but the way things are out there, GFL gents!

At least from my experience Hinge facilitated deeper conversations because more detailed profiles were required compared to Tinder.

I can't remember if other apps like Bumble or Coffee Meets Bagel was like that as I only used dating apps for a short period of time.

I honestly think men have higher odds getting poon in person, than on a dating app.
App gets you like 1 in 1000 results, where in real life its like 1 in 10, maybe 1 in 30. (1 in 3 if your name is mikemhg)

I can honestly understand why so many women are easily scared or defensive, I know a girl living in Florida who is a single mom and very good looking and in the last month she’s:

- been followed home from work by a guy who demanded her number and got violently angry when she refused to give it to him
- had a 58 year old married guy she knew who was the husband of one of her clients offer to help her move some stuff with his truck and when she thanked him and gave him a one armed hug he grabbed her ass and then later showed up at her door to drop by and check on her and said she owed him a blowjob at the very least nobody helps someone move stuff for free called her a bitch and she had to call the cops
- went to play pool and watch Super Bowl and had a guy harass her so bad she had to leave the bar and go home and then the bartender who offered to kick the guy out and got her number to check on her later she got home okay started sending her explicit messages and said she should expect it cuz she’s a hot girl and sometimes guys can’t help themselves ……

So yah it’s a fucking shitshow out there on both sides.

This will get me in trouble x2, so im gonna fluff some details, but story is the same:

I was working at a city of _________ owned property like 9 years ago.
It was a house, split into 3 rental units.
Bottom floor: two tenants. One tenant had control for the thermostat, for all 3 suites. Top floor, third tenant.

I got sent there as the old lady upstairs was constantly complaining its too cold.

Checked thermostat downstairs: set to 22C, upstairs was 20C and she had windows open. "Its too stuffy"

I told the old hag to close her windows and it would be warmer, she did not like my response at all, and that i should raise the thermostat temp to suit her needs.......

Anyways, i went back downstairs to try and find a common ground with the tenant that had the thermostat, and other tenant.
As we were chatting, somehow we ended up talking about her schooling and that she was doing a writing major if i recall correctly... Hot asian chick

I finished up onsite, everyone was happy except the old hag upstairs. Told me im no help.
I go back to my truck, and im like, you know, i gotta go for this asian chick.
I sit in my truck for like 15 minutes, and write a septet poem about what we talked about, go back to her door, knock, shes not home, i slide it under her doorway.
I leave, and about 3 hrs later i get a "your poem made my day, if i wasnt in a monogamous relationship i would definitely go on a date with you" or something along the lines.

Fast forward to the next morning, i get a call from my boss, nothing unusual.....
I say: hey boss
He says: morning, you know, you cant be leaving poems at city of _________ tenanted houses right?
At this point im dumbfounded, wtf? How? what?
Anyways he grills me a little about it, dont shit where you eat, all good.

The fucking old hag, went downstairs, after i left, talked to hot azn chick, to try and get her to increase thermostat or whatever, complaining that i was useless. Azn chick i guess said that i "was nice and left a nice poem".
Old hag got triggered, called the city, telling em to fire me. City called my boss, boss called me.

Silver lining: 3 years later im sent back to the same house for a shitter fitter issue, i go up into the old hags suite, she looks at me, squints, pauses "i remember you" with a disappointed look on her face"

Yeah, im still employed you rotting corpse. "Have a nice day!"

I have been out of the game for decades. But shit the scene is fucked up today from the complaints from my younger cousins or older nephews, at least among the Asian (like born and bred, not some CBC shit) once you are in the late 20s and early 30s.

The whole thing is like a business trade. You've got something I want and these are what I can offer. There's no longer much love or emotion involved.

I'm like, how can people date like this?! No wonder divorce rate is through the roof. Somewhere along the line when we swapped out actual dating to swipe left completely messed up our idea with marriage.

i was told to never go out of bounds within the same country.... like if you are married here... and if you HAVE TO "have some fun" go on an overseas vacation. Then everything stays there and will never come back to fack you....

The white washed / CBC esque friends I have all married and have somewhat stable marriages with kids and stuff...

All the rich 2nd gen / newer immigrant friends that I met thru Uni and beyond are almost all divorced, on their 2nd marriages or what not...

LOL my 17 year old had a gf during Gr 11, and then another over the summer, but alas she left for university. He's been single for Gr 12 and told us he's glad because having a gf takes up so much time and is expensive. :lol

Now he thinks he is an expert and gives his friends relationship advice. :lol

I may be biased, but he's a good looking kid with a good head on his shoulders so he should be fine in the future, I hope...
