Anyone else seen this show? Comments?

Fox had an encore presentation tonight. I thought it had a great start. :)

Synopsis: It is about a troubled youth played by (Benjamin McKenzie) whose lawyer (Peter Gallagher) takes him into his own home in the middle-class suburbs of Orange County near Los Angeles.

back in highschool, that happened all the time. Even the nerds got drunk. So watching that just brings me back to the old days, which was a year ago.

I like the show quite a bit but I can't help but feel there isn't anything too special about it. Maybe when we see a few more episodes, it will carve out it's own little niche.

i like this show a lot too. i like how it shows teenage kids + their parents interacting. and that girl, marisa, is so pretty! and she wears the nicest clothes :) the male lead is ok looking, but i like his character a lot.

I really liked tonight's episode. I'm finding the relationship between Marissa and her boyfriend a bit boring. I'd rather watch the issues between the parents instead.

My favourite scene tonight was at the end when Ryan wakes up and sees his mom leaving and they share a wave instead of a good bye.

It was sad to see ryans mom ruining that night.

yeah it was pretty sweet.

1z-0n-m3h this is wat happened. Ryan and Seth are taking a trip to Tijauna. And alot of other people from thr OC are going down their aswell. Marissa and summer end up going with ryan and seth. Jimmy tells marissa that hes moving out and he and julie are getting a divorce. They all get to TJ, with a few bumps in the road, then marissa sees luke dancing with this slut, kissing and touching her and shit, marissa gets pissed, and the slut tells marissa that luke hooks ups with every single girl in the OC. Marissa gets very upset leaves, Seth, SUm, and Ry go look for her. SUm finds her, then mari leaves again with pain killers, she takes alot of them, and she ends up having a drug overdose, and we are here to see marissa in a limp body, thinking shes died. but she probably aint dead.

oh yeah, sandy is considering a high office high paying job, and keirsten and jimmy paint his new place, where jimmy makes a move on her.

jimmy cooper, was a stock broker(i think) who was in charge of alot of peoples money. His picks took a huge dive, and he lost everybody's money. Up to 4 million i think.... either 4 million or 400,000. ne ways. Julie, Jimmy's wife is basically a gold digger, and as soon as jimmy told her this, that they are gonna have no money, she wanted a divorce. So far he got kicked out.

Wow...against Friends...they're going after the biggest timeslot of the week.

I don't know...as much as I enjoyed Friends, they haven't been as funny in a long time. The O.C. is easily the most enjoyable show so far this season and they got a good jump on everyone else by starting in late summer instead of almost October.

I am really starting to like Summer now. She has proven herself to be a great friend to Marissa after the Mexico fiasco and being so supportive with Marissa's parents pending divorce.

Anna is definitely more suited for Seth, but I still prefer to see him to be matched with Summer.

In addition to the Marissa/Ryan/Luke love triangle... I really want to see how the Sandy/wife/co-worker triangle pans out. :D

Could anyone explain what happened in this week's episode? I missed it both times on CTV and Fox. From what you guys have said, it sounds like it was a good one. :)

On a side note: Does anyone find Benjamin McKenzie's (Ryan) acting boring? I wish they would've picked someone else to play Ryan... someone who could at least emote better. I'm sick of seeing the same pouty blank stare that Ryan seems to have every scene.

STORYLINE FOR NEXT ESP!!!

Episode 13 - "The Best Chrismukkah" - December 3

Ryan and Marissa go shopping but they buy nothing as everything is too pricy for Marissa. As they exit the store, a guard stops them and asks to see Marissa's purse because, yes, she was shoplifting. Later, Ryan, still on probation, and Marissa, a bottle in her hands, are in a car and the cops pull them over for a broken taillight. He asks if they have been drinking. He believes that Ryan hasn't but doesn't buy Marissa's story since she has red-eyes. He asks her to step out of the car but... he gets a call on his radio and lets both of them go. After the cop drives away, Ryan gets out, opens Marissa's door, takes the bottle and hurls it, slams Marissa's door, and gets back in the car. Marissa says that Ryan is scaring her. Ryan says that she is scaring him. Marissa promises she'll get help and she does. Marissa goes at a therapist office where she meets Oliver, a young man going at the same school. They talk to one another while in the waiting room. Seth tells Ryan that there cannot be romance with tragedy. Ryan hold his stocking and wants to hang it.

STORYLINE FOR NEXT NEXT ESP!!

Episode 14 - "The Countdown" - December 10

Marissa said "I love you" to Ryan and he was unable to say it back although he also loves her. As he comes by the Cohen pool, Ryan meets with Hailey Nichol, mid-20s. Both inquire on whom is the other, but Hailey says it doesn't work that way since it's HER pool house. Ryan realizes that Hailey is Kirsten's sister. Hailey hadn't told her sister that she was coming back. Oliver, the young man from the therapist is back. Marissa and Oliver talk about a party they will both attend with their boyfriend/girlfriend. Kirsten and Hailey are in the master bedroom. Kirsten wants to talk about the past two years, and Hailey only wants to decide what she'll wear that evening since it's New Year's Eve. Hailey doesn't want her father to know she is back yet. Kirsten says she has two weeks before he comes back from Paris with the woman he is now dating, Julie Cooper. Hailey organizes a a party at the Cohen's house and Ryan seems to want it to end. He goes to the master bedroom where he finally finds Hailey (who doesn't want to let him in) chatting with a friend, Yvette to whom she owes a lot of money. Seth seems to have decided to be friends with both Anna and Summer. The latter seems ready to move on, but Anna still has feelings for him. Ryan will not go to the New Year's party with Marissa and Oliver (don't know what's the cause, maybe he made the decision or maybe it's because Hailey locked Seth and Ryan in the poolhouse!). Oliver seems to be alone (my guess is that when he told Marissa he had a girlfriend, it was just a show so she doesn't know right away he was interested. Marissa and Oliver alone at a party... will the love triangle become a square?

the only potential cliffhanger i see there is kirstins sister and her dad. taht has potential for a HUGE eruption and maybe that chick that wants to kill haley(SP)

all in all a good episode.

I was finally able to watch The O.C. after weeks of missing it.

Seth is my favourite out of everyone. Him and Anna are so adorable together. I like Luke because he is the breath of fresh air when everyone else is caught up in their love dramas. As much as I like Marissa, I think she should pay Ryan some more attention. Especially since she's spending so much time with Oliver.
