Wow I've totally forgotten ribs. I haven't had ribs at a restaurant for ages. Is Dem Bones still there?

Good price? Make some at home and impress your guest or SO. You don't need to buy expensive baby back ribs. Even $3/lb side ribs can be very good.

Tony Romas has been the most consistent to me. The one in Coquitlam is a bit better than their location at 801 Pacific in downtown.

applebee's really REALLY good, but the serving (for ribs) is small...they give you tons of rice and all the other crap.

i didn't think memphis blues was as great as people say too, i ordered that big platter before and really the only thing that was really good was the ribs i think? but the other stuff were just average

memphis blues has its share of good and bad days...

2/7 times i went they over bbq'd most of their meat...

5/7 times i went, EVERYTHING was SUPERBE... i'm most fascinated by the tenderness and juiciness of the bbq chicken, and my god, pulled pork w/ their beans... incredible...

so if u've gone and u weren't toooooooo satisfied w/ your meal - give them another try.

As for Montana's, i went twice... i rank them behind Tony Roma's.

I concur with above that Coquitlam Tony Roma's outrank Downtown Tony Roma's.

Dem Bones - by far the BEST imho.

so my conclusion thus far:

1. Dem Bones
2. Tony Romas Coquitlam
3. Montantas
4. Tony Romas Downtown
5. Memphis Blues <--- coz i only go for their chicken and pulled pork... oddly enough my friends that go usually leave most of the chicken for me hahahaha and naturally i don't find thier ribs overly "wowing" compared to above.

just to let everybody know, dem bones is opening this week!! no official date yet but definetely this week. there's just some last minute checks and inspections that needs to be done.

for those of you who've been to the restaurant before, get ready to be surprised by the new renovations and new things on the menu.

Are upi talkin bout dem bones in langley? Cuz that place was fucking shit.

Tony Romas is da bomb hands down.

The secret to good ribs is slow cooking or boiling and then cooking. 8 hours slow cooking at home is the best in a crock pot with a full bottle of your favorite barb-e sauce.

Once again langley dem bones was fucking terrible both times I tried it. You should not have to knaw the meat off the bone, it should fall off.

A lot of people also like a bit of chew and don't like the mushy, fall-apart meat you get from boiling. Also, boiling results in loss of flavour, I think.

Tony Romas downtown has been shut down, Dem Bones in Richmond has shut down. Where else can you go for good ribs besides Memphis Blues, in and around Vancouver/Burnaby/ and Richmond areas?

^ I never was a fan of Tony Romas...they overcooked my ribs last time. Though this place isn't known for their ribs, but Joey Tomatos on Lougheed has always cooked good ribs. Never had any troubles with them, ever.

MEMPHIS harsh sucks for ribs. i would rather have cactus club ribs. I'm a rib kinda guy and I would say memphis is way on the bottom of my list

I dunno why so many people rave about Memphis, maybe they've never had good BBQ before, but yah, the stuff there is pretty gross. Their platters there are OK, the chicken is always dry and overcooked, the only thing that's decent is probably their fatty brisket, and even that feels like it's gonna clog ur arteries after eating it..

Manic!
08-19-2008, 01:05 AM
memphis blues and Montana's ribs are pretty poor imo.

Boston pizza has some really good ribs, it's even better when they have Ribragous $15.95 for a full rack.

Costco is also selling ribs at there cossesion stand. $7.99 for a half rack I think. Have not tried it yet but will be soon.

If your willing to spend some time you can make some good ribs at home too.

I'm surprised to hear that TGIF made good food....I really don't like most of their stuff...but good to hear that their ribs are good

Had Costco ribs a few days ago. For $8.34 you a half rack, fries and a drink. The ribs were cooked well but they were under sauced and didn't have a BBQ flavor a brown crunchy crust. The BBQ dipping sauce was too sweet for me and was too cold because it was kept in the fridge. Over all there good for a quick cheap fix fast.

I will be BBQing some ribs tomorrow.

yep Ozarks on Fraser Hwy in Langley. Fricken best ribs around and they have all you can eat all the time for $24.95.

The pulled pork is smoked for 18 hrs and the ribs for 12 or so. You can smell the place from across the street.

I've been 4 times so far. had the ribs and WOW they are good. You don't even need to use a knife. And like I said that pulled pork is just awesome. The g/f loves the pulled chicken.
