i just played on a "Zombie" mod server last night! holy crap that was insane :eek: 25 guys running around with almost unlimited ammo fighting off a hoard of 25 zombies that infect you by knifing.
they look like the monsters from doom.

Terrorists/Zombie objective = infect all players

CT/Human objective: kill all zombies and or stay alive by hiding

oh yeah and the zombies have 500 hp and can heal.

once you get infected you become one and turn on your team mates:lol

its insanely fun.
scenario. there are modified maps (of existing ones) objects such as pop machines and sofas and crates CAN BE MOVED, by pulling/pushing (E button shooting or grenade) you stack said objects up to barricade yourself into a hidey-hole to keep zombies out.

when the round starts, a random player is chosen to be infected by the server, and turns into a zombie (skins and all) they are blessed with nightvision, speed, jumping ability and about 3000 HP. to infect others (kills) you stab them (humans) 1 stab is all it takes. the human stabbed joins your undead ranks and runs off to get their own kills. teamwork is key

Humans get lotsa AMMO and $, but usually camp somewhere hard to reach or just plain hide. humans cant outrun a zombie, but running backwards and a good aim can push zombies backs giving you room to escape.

when you have 40 or so guys running around, its absolute chaos. the sound of nonstop shooting is crazy. blood everywhere LOL!

you have to try it, it so much more fun than regular CSS (for me) cuz i donr feel so bad when i get stabbed/killed. the round is just beginning when you are infected. HOWEVER if a zombie (you) dies, you gotta wait till the next round, usually 4-5minutes!

no more "AWPS are cheap!" or "you fucking HAXOR!"

just "RUN! RUN! RUN!" or "OH SHIT! THEY'RE COMING!"

I personally like to taunt people im chasing with "I'm gonna eat your brain!"

round is over when:

-Human kill all Zombies
-Zombies infect all Humans
-time runs out.

as far as i know updaterate should equal server tic rate and cmdrate should be ur average fps

i used to play CS 1.3-1.6 actively for 6 years straight and never got bored of it. Last time i check 1.6 is dead (most servers are 24/7 dust2 with bots). :( Never really liked CSS i probably logged less than 10 hours..just can't stand the noob-friendly hitboxes. i heard it's more TF2-esque now so i'm even less interested. I dont know how it's going to happen but I'm hoping steam will come out with a new engine for a counter-strike reboot in the next few years...i'm not sure how they can revamp it and i'm not sure if tactical FPS will still be popular since people nowadays prefer run & gun COD styles.

I think most of the leagues from before are dead now. I think only CPL is still there. ESEA has their own league now and I think that's what most people use.

I actually like source a lot better than I did before. Me and my friends would only scrim 1.6 through most of high school though. But now that no one else really plays, it's just me so I have to pug via esea. I kinda miss going home and hopping straight on vent and just scrimming with friends.
