No complaints - they work, the perscription is on and the build quality is acceptable. Not great mind you.. but they're only $30!
I used this coupon code last time - no idea if it still works though

to be honest, regular eyeglasses aren't a huge deal when it comes to brands. unless you have a medical plan to take advantage of, save yourself some money and buy something cheap. seems like each designer brand has similar styles anyways.

mid 90s I had G&A, oval shape and it was gold
late 90's black frames, less oval, more rectangle
2003 channel full black frame
2006 tag.
Glasses are super important for a person's look if they wear it on a daily basis. it's funny how people wear nice cloths and yet have a pair of oval glasses from the 90s. Nothing wrong, but it's just weird.
I get benefits from my office so i get mine paid for every 2 years. I stick with one company for 10 years and i've always get great service with tons and tons of discounts.

Eyemate Optical on Granville and 70th area. Talk to Samson (604)264-9391 and tell him Bryan sent you. He will give you a great price. I suggest this for anyone buying new eyeglasses. Check this store out and talk to this guy. He can order any pair for you as well. He got me these pairs for $50 cheaper than what Skylight Optical was telling me and they were the lowest compared to all other Chinese stores.
But dont buy the exact same pair as me, I want to be unique! lol

Mine's Gucci, but they looks very similar. I got them at the Vision Works at Pacific Centre. The man there (Steven I think was his name) is very nice and efficient. I didn't like the look of it at first, so I told him that it made me look tired/droopy.. and that I would like the frames bent just a bit. So he did it the best he could within the limit of what the frames could handle. And he made so that I didn't need nosepads either.. cuz I have a flat nose :p
Now they look and fit great. He really knows what he's doing~

filth,
Those are an awesome frame but unfortunately, don't work with my shape of face/head. I've been wearing the OP's "Gehry" for two years and I love them.
There are several retailers in town who carry the Oliver Peoples lineup however, Bruce Eye Wear (www.bruceeyewear.com) has the best prices and service, at least in my experience.

07-16-2010, 12:11 PM
^ Thanks.
Anyone else know other brands that offer the same type of style like those Oliver Peoples one - a la wide, big lenses with dark frames thick/semi-thick frames?
bcrdukes
07-16-2010, 12:30 PM
There are several brands out there who offer them however I don't recall the names off the top of my head. I know Paul Frank offers one like that, not sure if Paul Smith (made by OP) offers one. If you have time this weekend, visit the folks at Bruce Eyewear. They are a small store and the staff have been very helpful. Nada, Paul and Elaine all know their products.
Your other option is to pay a visit to Eyes On Twelfth, however, I was snubbed by them one two occassions and decided to take my business elsewhere.

07-16-2010, 01:26 PM
neggo, i would suggest the Robert Gellar Marcellos. I wanted these in the beginning but they are too big for my face. The quality on them are amazing, the same, if not better than the Oliver Peoples i have.
However they are discontinued, but you can check out Gravity Pope Tailored Goods on west 4th to see if they still have some.
