Just over 271,000km, and still being driven. I bought the car with 221,000km, and an impeccable maintainence record. The previous owner religiously serviced the car at Park Shore BMW in Burnaby, and if the VIN is provided to a BMW dealership, they could pull the records. The previous owner had owned the car for 10 years, and it was bought in Vancouver as a lease return. The car was originally purchased at "Vancouver Auto LTD." which has since been renamed to "The BMW Store."

3.6L Inline Six - 315hp. Running the Dinan chip (I believe dinan, that's which brand the previous owner recalled it was. It is verified to be chipped though.) On paper the chips promise 340hp +/-
If you're at all informed on these cars, you will already know about this engine. I've been very strict on warming it up properly, allowing the start up emissions control fan to finish its cycle before I drive away. After that, I won't break 3000 rpm until the oil temp gauge is well cleared 70 degrees.

The car since I've had it has been maintained regularly at Island Motorsport here in Victoria. They're a very reputable shop in town here, and I would definitely reccomend them to the next owner.

For prospective buyers in vancouver, the car has passed aircare all the way up until I purchased it. I have not had it tested since then, but I am sure it will pass.

New Shift Knob
New K&N Filter
New Thermostat
New Oil pressure sensor
There have also been some additional suspension parts fixed over the last couple years

Has the full size stock M wheel spare tire with good tire
Has an ALMOST full tool kit in the trunk.
Comes with original manual and documentation.
New M Power shift knob (oem bmw part to replace original 3 striped one) - Currently removed due to it not fitting 100%.
Has been replaced with a nice weighted non-illuminating BMW knob. Therefor, it will come with the shift knob on the car now, as well as two other OEM Bmw M illuminating knobs.

Audio Visual: - This will remain an option, and if unwanted, I will subtract $750 from the asking price.
Pioneer Avic-N2 DVD GPS Navigation touchscreen unit.
- Has some performance readings to display G forces and angulation.
Also lets you have a digital speedo on the screen.
Matching Pioneer 6 cd changer in the trunk.
2 12" Eclipse subwoofers in custom ported box.
Kenwood 600W Monoblock Amp powering the subs.
Eclipse speakers in the rear deck
Altec Lansing 3 way components up front with kenwood 600w 4channel.
(from like 1995, but still sounds fine)

Things it will need to be perfect:
Hood struts are a little squirrely if a good breeze catches it. Would recommend them to be done in the future if I don't do them myself.
Trunk struts, same sort of thing, I believe both are the originals.
There is a small portion of the drivers side bolster which has begun to unstitch itself, on the seam.
The "intensive wash" doesn't work properly. I know there are some connections that aren't properly made, and I couldnt care less due to us being in Victoria. I can't justify the repair to my headlight and foglight sprayers.

The Body itself is in great condition. I am very specific about my cars, and as such I can tell you of the flaws. The rear passengers and drivers doors both have some tiny dings in them from parking lot injury. I acquired the car with these, and the owner said he recieved the dings from a careless bitch who parked next to him. The hood has a strange indent on it, very very small, and looks like it could be easily removed, but it is currently there. The paint is in great shape, and as I used to be a detailer, it has been washed and waxed regularly. Of course as a black car, it will require the same attention from the next owner to keep it looking well. Original paint, with no panels that have ever been repainted.

I've tried my best to explain it in the best details, I am a BMW enthusiast, and my reason for selling is due to having recently purchased an E46 M3 cab. My needs have shifted a little, and I really need something suitable to take my dogs in. I am 100% open to trades, or trades+cash. I would consider my car +cash for something that really interests me. I've had my eyes set on an SUV of sorts - x5 4.4, denali, 540it, something more practical for me. This is the best car I've ever owned, and it will be very easy to tell that it has been well taken care of. If there are any questions, please feel free to PM me, or send me an email at

babel250 @ gmail . com

-If you have any questions, please email and include a phone number and the best time to reach you at, and I will be sure to respond as soon as possible.

-Excuse the spaces in the email, I don't wish to recieve garbage junk mail.

-As well, for anyone in Vancouver who is interested, feel free to request any specific photos to accompany any questions you may have.

Thanks alot for looking, and feel free to ask any questions!

Brock.

Wow, that's an amazing M5. Hope it goes to someone who'll take good care of it. My understanding is that these are fairly uncommon (especially since it looks like you've kept it in fairly good condition).

When was the last time you had the valves adjusted? It must be done every year, or roughly every 15k kms (valves are like 300 bucks a piece on the exhaust side, 200 on the intake - and it's the exhaust ones that burn up). Whoever is interested should do a careful compression test. Rebuilding these engines is exquisitely difficult and expensive (know from bitter, first hand experience), there are maybe 2 people in the country I would trust to do that (one being Markus Glarner).

Also, being a '91, it's the fastest of any US/Canadian spec M5, having a 3.91 diff.

Brock250
02-03-2007, 06:40 PM
I will have to dig up the actual date, but I did have the valves shimmed at the same time I did the valve cover gasket. As for compression test, I will gladly offer the car up for inspection any time, I made sure to have it fully inspected before I bought it, and I remember the compression test being excellent all across. I looked in to the cost of a rebuild when I first bought the car, with actual intentions of owning it foever; Anyways, the general consensus seemed to be in the $8000 range for a proper rebuild. It would be a pricey bill, but I think it would add a bit of value to the car, however, with my current list of repairs and improvements, $8000 couldn't fit in :(

TheJuggernaut
02-03-2007, 06:48 PM
Cool. It will give a big peace of mind to the potential buyer - an even, high compression says a lot. You should have had it done twice already (having put 30k on it), and you say Insp 1 was done right before you got it, so they should have checked the gaps then. Also, if you're confident, post a pic of the cam tray too. A clean, non-yellowing tray also says a lot about the treatment (type of oil, how long between changes etc).

Mine cost a lot more than that and I bet most others do too. Simply because if you're already dishing out that much money, you might as well go an extra mile. I had mine bored out and put in 95mm J&E pistons.

By the way, which timing chain tensioner did you have put in?

Brock250
02-03-2007, 07:15 PM
For the tensioner I used the S50B32 E36 M3 tensioner, have the part number somewhere in the recipt stack. I also made sure to use the 750il control arm bushings. I frequent www.m5board.com and highly reccomend it to the next owner.

bump for a great seller..
been for a ride in this car and it is a total sleeper, it accelerates like crazy. why you selling?

Brock250
02-09-2007, 08:58 PM
Selling because I'd like an E39 of some sorts....... M5 would be really nice, but it's too pricey, so I'm thinking a 540i sport with a supercharger would do. I love this car, and it's treated me well, but I'd like to get something that I could customize a bit more without ruining the integrity of it :P E34 M5's are perfect just the way they are! :D

Price drop. I figured I'd price it high to avoid ridiculous offers, but I was informed that it has scared a couple of people off :P

$19,500 obo. Will be fully gassed and detailed of course.

I will gladly offer the car to be fully mechanically inspected at your shop of choice as well. I had a full inspection done when I purchased it, as well as last time it was in the shop. This isn't a car that is going to need alot of repairs any time soon, just the regular maintenance.

Thanks,
Brock.

i would love to have this car, too bad its located at victoria ....

just wondering, hows the gas mileage on the M5?
my e34 535i runs 4.5km per litre of gas .....totally a gas killer.

Brock250
02-21-2007, 09:51 PM
I get about 400km from an $80 fill up. Just an estimate really. Warming it up properly on some of these colder days can be a little gas consuming, but it's worth it.

--If you're interested in the car, it's a ferry ride for either of us. I don't mind, send me a PM if you are interested.

*** The OBC tells me 19.0 L / 100km

ALSO. Just had the SLS rear suspension replaced with NEW Bilstein SPORT rear shocks, new springs, new fan clutch, a proper short shifter kit was iinstalled, and of course she's been oil changed. Driving SO nicely for this "summer" time we've been having.

Okay, I understand it's a higher KM car. It's a hurting car market too. Well, I love this car, I have no problem test driving it with you. It's fast, it's clean, and it's a steal for what I'm asking.

$8500 - Pretty damn close to that at least. I'll renegotiate if I can remove the stereo, and return the wheels to stock. I have TONS of new photos for any interested party.

Thanks freakshow. I agree with you, and I realize that. All I did to try and correct it is put money into everything that was showing signs of age. My garage can only fit two cars, and I NEED something in anticipation of snow this year. M's + snow = not leaving my driveway.!
