I second Kits...I used to go to Renfrew community centre, man that place was a pos compared to Kits. 290 something dollars a year for flexipass gives you gym access as well as pool access at other community centres too.
Noonish is good if you don't have class or work. 5 - 8ish are the peak hours, after 9 dies down. Kits closes at 11 too, so going around 9 isn't too bad.

if anyone is looking to goto World Gym, find someone that works at Home Depot and try and get in on their corporate rate. Im sure they have corporate rates for many companies but I did mine with my ex with Home Depot. the nash center is opening up in richmond as well over by the delta hotels kinda close to moxies area... (by the brick) if that makes it easier. rates are going to be around 40$ to compete with golds but i think the rates skyrocket after a certain time...

the $1 a day is basically after you've signed the contract and paid the initiation fee correct? is the initiation fee a deposit or is it an actual fee your never going to get back.

its an actual fee your never gonna get back but once you sign up i think you have 30 day money back. If you don't like it they return the initiation fee and the month fee you've paid.

any deals on the gym that you guys are currently training at?
My membership expired at YMCA.
Ive tried out fitxpress on commercial and 1st but didnt like the gym layout much.
use to go to Golds gym on gilmore, but didnt like theyre layout either.
been a member at fitness world before, but monthly fee were rapping me.
worked out and Bonsar by metrotown, but got kinda sick of the crowd.
been to sports central too, but their layout just sucked imo.
Im looking for a gym similar to YMCA thats decently sized, has enough mirrors around, clean, good change rooms/showers, and a nice older crowd.
any suggestions?
I might go check out Sparta??? somewhere along commerical. i heard it was alright there.

Anyone go to the Killarney gym? Been thinking about switching establishments.
Never been in it but walk past it every week when I hit the pool there. It looks fairly small though, and seems fairly busy when I go by. (around 5:30-6pm)
I'm doing FitXpress on 1st/Commercial. Paying $26 and change after taxes. Should have done the 2 year contract...been going there for 2.5 years already. It's usually not too crowded, even during peak times. Always have cardio machines available (treadmills, ellipticals, etc) available when you need it, and a decent weight area. It's also a little small and strangely laid out (I remember someone saying it used to be a McDonalds there years ago?) but decent sized without costing an arm and a leg like Fitness World.
There's not too many "meat head" roid-rage folks or posers who go there to show off, so it's not too bad if you're just starting out or just want somewhere that's not too advanced.
