Personally I would say if you think the Richmond casino then you gotta look around more. In my opinion the River Rock one is horrible.

Oh dear God. RiverRock buffet is worse than the dumpster food behind Uncle Willys. How can the cooks NOT know how to make a ceaser salad?

All I can say is to stay far far away from Oriental Buffet in Surrey.

Pan Pacific has a nice buffet I think. Also, the Holiday Inn on Broadway was a decent buffet.

im assuming you are talking white food buffets? in vancouver its pretty slim pickings
not sure why all the bashing of river rock. for lunch its not terribly priced, 12 or 13 bucks. the food may not be great, but there's usually a good selection of meat available.
uncle willy's is always there for 8-9 bucks at lunch. you can't go wrong for a cheap buffet there. not nearly the selection of old country buffet, but its the canadian equivalent.
in hope there's a good buffet, cheap too. all of the food is homestyle (even the lasagna!) so its great. they even made french fries fresh when you wanted them (not that i'd waste my precious stomach space on them!)
the best i've been to within a reasonable driving distance is the eagles buffet at the tulalip casino. its about an hour past bellingham, but seattle premium outlets and the biggest walmart you'll ever see is beside it
i took a peek at skagit casino (15 mins past bellingham) and it was pretty small for the same price as eagles (about 11 or 12 bucks)
if you don't want to drive farther than bellingham there's always old country buffet in belis fair. just went last week, its great, for about 8 bucks (lunch)
its big, obviously not the best quality food, but its cheap and there's alot of it :)
ive heard good things about the langley casino, never been though
for brown food, i like the new india buffet on broadway near oak, theyve got cheap beer too
for chinese, i recommend two:
grand buffet in burnaby near gilley and kingsway and there's a really good one at royal and columbia. i think 8 dollar lunch and 9 dollars dinner if you get in before 6. lots of seafood at both for dinner and cost around 12-13 regular price

River Rock buffet ... I felt like I was eating at some Seniors Care Center housing ... all the food was either too mushy or just plain disgusting .. and it was like $20?! .. for mashed potatoes and dry chicken?! ... and some fruits for dessert ..
I miss Uncle Willy's from back in the day ... Deep fried chicken, ham, prime rib, soft cone chocolate ice cream! .. I would put it on everything! In my pop then in 3 bowls! Haha! (Must have been like 10+ years ago)

You want all you can eat meat. Samba hands down imo. Not only is the shit good its pretty quality.
Shabusen used to be pretty dope back in the day (atleast over 5 years go) but that place keeps going down hill year after year and now is not even worth going to.

I had some awesome, smelly farts, after a night of filling up on nothing but various meat. I caught my sister by suprise with a Samba fart, and she was gagging and grasping for air. HAHA.

Samba is pretty unique. Craving for some buffalo or ostrich meat? Then Samba's your place. My guy friends love it when the girl performers shake their thang. haha!
For all of you who hates the buffet at RiverRock Casino, the one time that I ate there I really liked the variety of salads! Yummy! I haven't gone there for 2 years but maybe they changed their menu?

I'm gonna have to disagree w/ you on your Grand Buffet suggestion. I've been there and I thought it was awful. Basically tasted like Chinese food from a food court at the mall.
I like the breakfast buffet at the Salmon House. Okay, so they don't have the typical pancakes, sausage, bacon offerings, but they do make a pretty mean omelette.

The buffet in the sutton place hotel is good and if your a member you get 2 for 1 . I think its like 30$ a person so its a bit pricey with out membership.
Also hotel vancouver is even more pricey over 40$ and has an even better buffet.
Nothing compares to the buffet at the bellagio hotel in vegas though. If you go at 1030 right before lunch you can eat lunch and breakfast buffet for 15$ and its all good stuff.

If you want good buffet hit up Northview Golf and Country Club in Surrey. Place is absolutely fantastic. It's pricey but worth it, I'm there at least once a month.
On Wednesday nights they have a seafood buffet. Almost every kind of seafood you can think of, from crab to ahi tuna. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Then Friday nights is pasta night. They have so many choices that you can add into your pasta it is amazing! And then on Sundays they have a brunch buffet to die for. And each buffet has amazing desserts, especially the rich chocolate cake

I work in the kitchen at Northview.. Good to hear such positive things about the food.
Seafood Buffet on Wednesday's is a bit pricey at $29.95.. But you get a ton for what you pay.
Sunday's from 10-2 there is a Brunch buffet that is decent as well. There are around 10 hot food items, omelettes made on the fly right in front of you, plenty of cold food items. There's also fresh fruit and a dessert section as well.
And Pasta Night on Friday's is pretty killer in what you get for the price you pay..especially if you have a big appetite for pasta.
edit: Both Pasta and Brunch are 19.95

Yah seafood night is pricey. But I think for what you pay for, you get your money's worth. The pasta night and brunch are really good deals, especially when you think you go to some crappy pasta restaurants and pay $15 for a plate of overcooked noodles. Or for 5 bucks more you can have your own custom pasta + salads + dessert!

Samba is a good different experience for meat lovers.
We went to $35 buffet and we got to try different kinds of steaks like Ostrich, Kangaroo, Crocodile, Bull, Buffalo, giraffe, baboon, and much more exotic meats that I cannot remember.
If you think thats nasty then this kind of buffet is not for you.
you have to be "open-minded" in order to appreciate their food.
Aside from the exotic meat, we did enjoy their mashed potatoes, salads and other side dishes. It was really decent

Did someone try the chocolate buffet in Sutton, too?
I also recommend that buffet as once in a blue moon to try. Think all the chocolates that you can eat...yum!!!
