Not entirely correct.
The song was written around a previously unreleased guitar track recorded by Hide before he died.
Man, X-Japan...one of the best, if not the best power ballad rock bands in history.

X Japan is legendary
so powerful..and i have to say...RARE that a band from its time, made such an effort to break out into North America
They have achieved the exposure they want around the world through power rock ballads, some very speedy thrash metal and some amazing instrumental work.
hide may not be the best guitarist in the world, but he glorified the lead guitar in Japan, which is why he is sooo big.
I dont kno what they will do to fill the big shoes. I can only think of one guy, only becuz he is close with X, and thats Sugizo from LUNA SEA.
anyways yea...the new song is good, i guess it sorta appeals to the international market more..now that its all in english..
btw...
www.myspace.com/xjapan2008
has a full 15min interview with yoshiki talkin bout everything..in english
his english..a little "broken" but he knos his vocabulary well hahaha

Yoshiki is one of the most creative musicians in the world.
Sugizo is already confirmed to be Hide's stand-in for the reunion.
Hide is definitely not the greatest guitarist ever but neither was Kurt Cobain. Hide is the Kurt Cobain of Japan in terms of influence he had on the rock world.

Wow, sounds like a sweet show. Wes Borland was like...the only talent in Limp Bizkit.
It was already a sure thing that Sugizo was going to fill in for Hide.
Tim Budong
03-28-2008, 02:14 PM
holyshit..
yoshiki collapsed in the middle of Art of Life..and the rest of the show was cancelled..
they only had Sugizo play 2nite..
Ronin
03-28-2008, 02:21 PM
Wow...that sucks. Although it isn't really surprising. I mean, Yoshiki has some health problems, really and hasn't really performed at this scale for years. He used to get super dehydrated after X-Japan shows.

problem is, toshi is not performing well on the first day, and also, yoshiki's timing was kinda off in some songs...and oh yeah, sugizo made silent jealousy sound a bit funny by overdoing the virato...
anyhow, i dont give a shit, X-JAPAN 4 EVER!!!!!

Tim Budong
01-20-2009, 07:03 PM
HK show makes me cry...
and i did tear up....
call me emo..
but this is a band i grew up with..
i couldnt score tickets for 1/17..then they add the extra show the day i board the plane back home...and that flight back was one of hte longest..dying to know if my friend had scored the tickets...
the first thing i did once i stepped off the plane was to call back hk..and be given the worst news of 09...and then i teared up at the airport......sigh...
I made a promise to myself i will goto the next show in north america..LA or NYC..i will go..
the HK show meant alot to me...being born and raised in HK...i wanted to be part of history...and to be denied the chance to be probably one of the best concerts ever held in HK by an international act was very hard...
sigh...
the youtube videos were amazing..Toshi's voice was as strong as ever..really made the 3night TokyoDome 08 shows look like complete shit
Inaii

Inaii
02-03-2009, 09:41 AM
As long as his music stays around, he'll be forever in our hearts and that's all that matters. =] Cheesy I know, but I prefer to celebrate people's lives than mourn their deaths, no matter how tragic.

X Japan ? hide Releases ?Last Song? With Vocaloid, 16 Years After Passing Away | Jrock Radio (http://jrockradio.net/2014/10/x-japan-hide-releases-last-song-with-vocaloid-16-years-after-passing-away/)
errrr not sure how i feel about this...
Musician hide, the band X Japan‘s guitarist who passed away in May 1998, will release a new song in December. The song uses YAMAHA‘s Vocaloid voice synthesis technology to recreate his singing voice, based on lyrics he wrote and a demo he recorded just before he passed away.
It took about two years to complete this song to commemorate what would have been hide‘s 50th birthday on December 13. His “final new song” will be on an album that Universal Musicwill debut on December 10.
The title of the song is “Co Gal,” and hide wrote both the lyrics and music. As the name indicates, the song satirizes the “kogal” fashion boom of high school girls and others whodressed with mini-skirts and loose socks around 1998. TheSports Nippon newspaper reports that a source who previewed the rock number, which clocks in at over three minutes long, said that “it is unmistakably his voice.”
This will be the first never-before-released track from hide since “Junk Story,” which was on the best-of album hide Singles in 2007. The musician had planned to include “Co Gal” on Ja, Zoo, his first solo album (after X Japan‘s breakup) that debuted posthumously in November 1998. However, since he passed away right before recording the song, all that remained were the lyrics and the audio demo. Part of the lyrics were displayed in the hide Museum in Kanagawa Prefecture’s Yokosuka City from 2000 to 2005.
To create the song, the team extracted samples of hide‘s singing voice from his previously released tracks and “carefully” synthesized them with Vocaloid technology. INA, a 49-year-old musician and a close friend of hide, arranged the resulting voice with breathing sounds and other cues to give the finished song a realistic sound.
The upcoming album will include “Tell Me,” “Pink Spider” and other hit songs in addition to “Co Gal.” Hiroshi Matsumoto, hide‘s younger brother and manager, said that he would not have imagined that they can finally complete hide‘s solo album Ja, Zoo as planned. He added that to do so, on what would have been hide‘s 50th birthday, is like a dream.
