The white PS3 stands out like a sore thumb. I'd rather stick with black as it at least blends in with things.

I like Hondaracer's and quasi's setups... nice ambience (for watching movies) in the rooms.

Hyde, how in the bloody hell do you watch TV in your HK setup? The glare is horrendous. I can see the type of blinds you have from the reflection and those don't do jack to keep light out.

I quite like the way you run your cables

did you do it yourself, or did you hire someone to do it?

they blend in quite nicely

Well if you have the space, of course you'd dedicate an entire room for your home theatre setup. :) For others, they just have to make use of a living/family room.

Well it doesn't take long before you can tell which users are "powered by parents". :) However, in their defense, there are a few here who are homeowners themselves.

Here's some pics of my new place. I've been here less than a month so it's not all tidy and finished, but it will get there.

First off, the equipment list:

Westinghouse TX-47F430S 47" 1080p LCD
Onkyo TX-SR705 receiver
Toshiba HD-A35 HD DVD player
Sony PS3
Logitech Harmony 880
Wharfedale Diamond CS center
Wharfedale Diamond 9.5 mains
Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 rears
Wharfedale Diamond SW150 sub

It's got a few neat things... for one, it's all online with CAT5 in both the PS3 and HD-A35. Second, it is using only HDMI cables to carry signal, ver 1.3a whenever possible. Third is that the PC is currently using the LCD as a primary display and runs MediaPortal HTPC software. Inside the PC is a 1.4TB volume filled with endless amounts of TV shows and movies. I may switch to an HTPC case later, but this works for now as I'm still testing and playing around with MediaPortal.

And now, pics. Ignore those gross old coffee tables, I replaced them about 2 weeks ago.

For downloading movies and watching it through the pc and as a pvr. Didn't want an empty plug in the back of the tv and I had a spare computer sitting in the closet so I converted it to a media center and hooked it up :D . I don't have a htpc case so I just put a tower behind the tv with all the wires and 2nd power bar on top of it. And I have no room for a htpc case on the tv stand anyways :p

Anyone interested in buying my Mozart Sx Slim with VFD and remote?

http://img.ncix.com/images/28236_l.jpg

Sells on NCIX for $235 with tax

I can do $180 even (shipping will cost me over $80!!!)

If you don't mind waiting, I can ship via surface which can take a few weeks but significantly cheaper - $125 for everything.

The case has only been used for about a week, while I tested it for a review I wrote.

I just want to get rid of it, it's taking up what little space I have.

Sony mini stereo [rear]
Cyber Acoustics computer speakers [side]

Comfort:
shitty computer chair
bed

parents setup:

PS3

Screen:
Samsung 52" beastie

Sound:
Fisher receiver and speakers [front]

I currently have a 52" sony bravia lcd in my family room, downstairs I have a draper 140" screen with a Sony projector and just got custom cabinet done last month. I'm thinking about having the cabinet painted darker and I'm waiting for the smoked windows for the cabinet..

Here's a crappy pic from my phone;

Thanks.

I'm currently running a VPL-HS20 which is great but doesn't have 1080p. I've ordered the VPLVW60 from a friend who works at Sony which I should have in the next week or so.

That looks really good, nice setup. I wish I had a larger room so I could do something more like that, it's a much cleaner look. My next house I want high ceilings and a room about 50% bigger then what I currently have.

I have a friend who has a home with a basement that has as much footage as my 3 storey house, 1/3 of which is a media room. I don't know if I'll ever have anything like that but seriously it gives me something to work towards.

Thanks, I like your setup as well.

I wish I had a higher ceiling because the 200" inch screens are bloody amazing but the issue is always the overall space of the room. You need tons of room so you're not straining your eyes.
