SOLD!

The car:

silver, 5 speed, 145 000kms, fully loaded except for monsoon. So that means it's got black leather interior, heated seats, heated power mirrors, p/sunroof, p/windows, p/locks and all that jazz. It's got wolfsburg rims on new Pirelli tires and new brakes. There was an accident on the front right fender for around $2000 a few years ago, but you'd never know it and it's not a rebuild or anything like that.

*Nothing* is wrong with this car mechanically. No weird electrical issues, no funny noises, strong clutch and smooth shifts. Timing belt and water pump were replaced at VW. This car needs nothing at all. I wish I didn't have to sell it. This car is solid.

The bad? Well, somebody tried to jimmy the lock open recently, so the lock is damaged. However, I will have this taken care of before the car changes hands, so you don't need to worry about it. :)

Looking for $10 000. Don't lowball, I'm not going to just dump this car. I'll also consider trades + cash for a motorcycle, 600ccs and under...preferably under. May consider trades+ cash for a del sol, civic H/B (especially if it's had an engine swap), 240sx, CRX, etc as long as it's manual tranny. I'd be looking for $4000-$5000 cash, as the cash is more important to me, so keep that in mind if you're interested in trading. DON'T OFFER ME A TRADE IF YOUR CAR IS WORTH THE SAME AS MINE. I need money!
$9500...$9000...$8900...

Ouch on the $8900 man....6 cyl is probably a little harder to sell these days than this one though...or so I hope for my sake ;) They're such nice cars though...both the 1.8T and the VR6...I think people should come drive it. haha

You can't received private messages, so this is in response to the one you sent me:

i'll give you 5500$ cash tomorrow . No trade. This car is not worth 8000$ its nine years old and it doesnt even book anymore. 5500 is well above wholesale and i can pay you cash. let me know if your interested .

I don't know if you didn't do your research, or if you think I didn't. The cheapest GTI on craigslist right now is $8500 "firm". There's ONE 2001 at $8000, the rest are more expensive. Those cars also have higher mileage. They're also the VR6 versions, which go for less than the 1.8T's on average, probably due to fuel economy. My asking price is the going rate. I'm flexible, but if you can't afford to pay a reasonable price, I might suggest you look for a different car. I found a regular golf with the regular engine with minimal options at 235 000 kms in your price range.

Btw, your offer isn't "well above" wholesale. Wholesale is about $6000. Gotta do your research, man. If i wanted to dump the car for that range, I'd dump it on a dealer.

Good luck.
