You know whats funny, last night I was with a couple of girls and one of them said how I look like harry potter, i was like sweet, and then shes like you know harry potter died irl...i was like ok lol. then the other girl said that it was actually cedric that died, not harry. totally random.

and yeah it was supposed to come out when TDK came out and kept getting pushed, the studios said they did it so they could post better earnings this year as well (since tdk made so much) but early reviews at that time destroyed the movie and they went back changing things

It seems that Harry Potter and his wizard friends' latest adventure won't be seen in IMAX right away. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince won't have an IMAX release until July 29, two weeks after it opens in traditional theaters on July 14.

The delay stems from the decision to move the film from its November release last year to this summer. IMAX had already signed a deal to release Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for a full month in IMAX and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has to wait until that commitment is over.

It was said that the film would open in two IMAX theaters on the 14th, one in Los Angeles and the other in New York City. While the delay isn't said to affect the film's box office performance, since the film only has 12 minutes of IMAX 3D footage, shares of IMAX itself dropped 4% after the announcement of the delay.

Caught it couple days ago.
Although I don't agree with the huge chunks that were missing the Astronomy Tower battle, Bill got attacked, Fleur was missing, no Dobby/Kreacher spying on Draco, all the memories of Merope/Gaunt, etc! They only showed a couple memories.... and the weird addition blowing up the Burrow, the Death Eaters attacking? WTF? Although seeing more of Greyback/Bellatrix is cool the movie had its merits.

It was extremely emotional, and the cave scene was perfectly done, almost LOTR like Dumbledore looked a LOT like Gandalf when he conjured the fire to keep away the Inferi.

It's great to see the actors all grown up, physically and emotionally, such as Hermione showing us a different side of her, and there are scenes that show that they've truly nailed their acting technique: Ron and his face after getting the antidote for love potion, being poisoned right after with the wine. Dumbledore drinking the liquid from the cave, very convincing, but there was no witty dialogue from Harry like in the book..

The ending wasn't exactly the same, but the wands up for Dumbledore at the end was equally moving, my theatre was completely silent in the last 20 minutes, not even a slight rustling...awesome . Ending was lacklustre, felt like it was going to end with a "To be continued"...

Dark, moody and emotional but with chunks of comedy relief, this was very different than the previous movies, and I hope that with them deciding to split up Deathly Hallows into two movies, that they can keep more closely with the book and not leave things out.
