I'm in, hopefully we can make it at least 4 v 4. We just need a place to book a game and time... does it cost anything to do so?

hey guys. I've got a team of 8 people for a business competition that takes place in january. Our athletic component of the comp (crazy i know!) is volleyball and we need to train. We're not incredible but we're all talented athletically and there are a couple high level players on our team. Let me know what you guys could organize with us!

Why reinvent the wheel? Just go to some drop-ins already set up for you. Look at the list here: http://www.vancouvervolleyball.com/dropin.asp
BTW if anyone needs a college level sub (power or offside) for a game, PM me.

Which college do you play for? I used to play for Langara a long time ago...
Marpole drop-in is a bit dangerous with some of the old guys there. they don't really care about not crossing the net so watch your ankles if you play there.
Britt has pretty decent level ball on Sunday nites. Roundhouse in Yaletown has 2 drop-ins on Wednesday nites (early for beginner, later for advanced). There's decent level ball at Coal Harbour as well...i think it was on Tuesday nites, but you have to call in to get your name on the list. :)
there must be more people that play vball on RS? i've seen some modded cars at leagues and tournaments :)

If you are a beginner, contact BCVA as they have some vball clinics.
You could check out Bonsors on Monday nights for drop in.

Might not want to play when this guy is there. He likes to play target practice when he gets bored on the court. But, if you want a facial tattoo by all means, feel free to trash talk Mashimaro

I remember those days. They had some guys that had a tendency to come under the net and maybe take out your ankles.

Nevermind, just looked at the drop fee's for the oval and it's $12.50 for adults, yikes!
I guess they want to pay off the cost of the oval in a hurry. Fee is for all day, i emailed them and told them to do a fee per sport.

You can pickup almost anywhere, I think even sportchek carries them.
Tad's on granville, racquets runners, or canuckstuff.com

Really? Hmm strange, sportchek @ richmond had it maybe a 2 weeks back. $69.99, i was going to grab it, but didn't need another ball.
I'm heading to tads today to grab some real vball shoes, i'll check out what balls they are stocking these days.

ebay is your best bet for the Mikasa ball at the moment.
i love that ball as some of my friends have it. great hitting ball and you need precise control, it's not a 'forgiving' ball compared to the Tachikara Gold or the Baiden Perfection.

Picked up a pair of Mizuno's, first time playing in vball shoes, wow, big difference.
Found this deal online, i'll pick up another pair and gold ball.

Pretty good prices for shoes on that link.
big difference in grip? i used vball shoes in the past and found they never had enough cushion at the balls of your feet, mainly all in the heels...i've resorted to using running shoes with active ankles now...haha, *knock on wood* never sprained in my life so far! :)

I've always used basketball shoes for ankle support, the weight difference is huge, grip is bit better. The asics I tried on, felt pretty thin on the forefoot.
