Yay Campari! On a hot summer day or at any italian restaurant, I like having a Campari and tonic with a dash of Peychaud bitters.
Like Skinnypupp I enjoy a good Manhattan, although i prefer a sweeter bourbon like Woodford Reserve instead of rye. I also have a pet peeve about shaking vs stirring. I hate ice chips in my Manhattan so I prefer it stirred, up in a martini glass.

Some people like to drink whisky, not necessarily "nosing and tasting" it. For drinking, nothing beats ice. As it melts, it does bring out more flavours, as well as making it more refreshing to drink.

Agree that ice will make the whisky more refreshing, but that's it.
Adding ice simply numbs your ability to taste. The colder the drink is, the less you can taste it.
As the ice melts, it also dilutes the scotch.
To bring out more flavours, one should add a splash of water (at room temperature). If you go to a high end hotel restaurant and order a nice scotch, they never ask whether you want it on the rocks. Just like they never ask if you want your red wine with ice.
They simply serve the scotch with some water on the side.
That being said, adding ice will be acceptable if you are drinking cheaper whisky such as red label or Canadian, to mask the less impressive taste.
Often people add soda water too.

So you're saying that adding water enhances the taste, then you say it masks the taste...
Splash of room temperature water enhances the taste for those who are not used to enjoying the Scotch neat (at full strength). Remember some cask strength Scotch goes up to 60% unlike your 43% variant, so it is a personal preference on the water part.
However, ice always masks the taste and should be avoided, unless you have to down the cheap nasty stuff.
It's really not rocket science, most Scotch drinkers consider the above basic knowledge, Google it yourself and you'll see.

Of course, no impurity from the tap water to spoil the taste :D They even say the best source of water will be the spring water from the same area where the scotch is produced, but I guess that's pushing it.
Never tried fine aged cognac with a bit of water, will have to next time.

Eggnog anyone?
Eggnog, also egg nog, is a sweetened dairy-based beverage made with milk, cream, sugar, beaten eggs (which gives it a frothy texture) and flavoured with ground cinnamon and nutmeg; alcoholic versions also exist with the addition of various liquors, such as brandy, rum, and whiskey.
Eggnog is a popular drink throughout The Americas, and is usually associated with winter celebrations such as Christmas and New Year. Eggnog has long been believed to be an excellent source of magnesium. Eggnog is also very popular in Central Europe, but only its cognac version, which can be bought almost everywhere, mostly in Christmas-markets, during November and December. Commercially, non-alcoholic eggnog is available around Christmas time and during the winter.
History
The origins, etymology, and even the ingredients used to make the original eggnog drink are debated. Eggnog, or a very similar drink, may have originated in East Anglia, England, though it may also have been developed from posset (a medieval European beverage made with hot milk). An article[1] by Nanna Rögnvaldsdóttir, an Icelandic food expert, states that the drink adopted the nog part of its name from the word noggin, a Middle English phrase used to describe a small, wooden, carved mug used to serve alcohol. Another name for this English drink was Egg Flip. Yet another story is that the term derived from the name egg-and-grog, a common Colonial term used to describe rum. Eventually the term was shortened to egg'n'grog, then eggnog.
The ingredients for the drink were too expensive and uncommon for the lower classes, but it was popular among the aristocracy. "You have to remember, the average Londoner rarely saw a glass of milk", says author and historian James Humes (To Humes It May Concern, July 1997). "There was no refrigeration, and the farms belonged to the big estates. Those who could get milk and eggs to make eggnog mixed it with brandy or Madeira or even sherry."
The drink crossed the Atlantic to the English colonies during the 18th century. Since brandy and wine were heavily taxed, rum from the Triangular Trade with the Caribbean was a cost-effective substitute. The inexpensive liquor coupled with plentiful farm and dairy products helped the drink become very popular in America.

drank way too much Champagne lately.... we drink at least 2 dozen bottles every weekend ourselves at the clubs!
Otherwise, its Vodka or Martell VSOP+ Mr.Pink.

LOL Revscene is full of haters
its not like Moet & Chandon are even expensive... they are only like $1k RMB a bottle at our club in SZ.... ordering a dozen is only like 12k.

This gin lonkero is a Scandinavian drink I had all over Finland while there, it's basically gin, grapefruit pop and soda
Oh I miss it :(
