seems like they made up their own story rather than following the traditional one but i dont blame them. The dragonball is a long running series.
Effects are not bad, i give em that but i think this will fail in many different levels.
I think they plan to target an audience that has not seen nor is familiar with dragonball. Unfortunately majority of the population do know.

they didn't go that far, I think live action was a bad idea, it looks nice but just falls too far off. If they tried CG it might've been ok too, seeing how good CG can look nowadays..Then again a whole new re-animated movie would rock..

omg i watched the HD trailer... some cgi looks bad. from the trailer it looks like they tried way to hard to make fight scenes look cool (0:32-0:37). Jesus, if you're going to make a martial arts movie at least train the actors until the movements look natural. Goku looks as stiff as the girls in Charlie's Angels or the Dead or Alive movie. It's painful to watch them rape DB.
