return flight was $800 (YVR <-> AMS)
hotel was $350 for 3 nights (not a nice room but hey its a bed and its close to dam square lol)
TE ticket $60 (for tiesto, ferry, marco v, kyau & albert, rank 1, sander van doorn etc... lol its ridiculous!)
booze and food is extra. i think flights are costing more this year though.
my buddy from toronto flew to and from out of buffalo, NY and he claimed he spent no more than 1500 for the entire thing and he stayed longer than i did. his flight however was only 500 since he's flying from the east coast and from USA.

i have to disagree about this years anthem. its just not an anthem tune in my opinion. personally, new world may have been more fitting for a massive like TE.

so this year...
flights around that time of year (i searched mar. 5th-9th), costed roughly $1000+
a TE ticket cost about $70...
and hotel costs about $350?
plus food, souveniers, booze and pills..... $1750-$2000 for 4 days.
a pretty expensive party, but i'm sure it would be worth it. TE2008 looked INSANE!
i dont think i'd go unless i was planning to stay for 2 weeks and had the chance to travel around other parts of europe though...

to some that may be a lot of money. to me, going to one of these and spend a week in europe sure beats the hell out of going to overpriced crappy events here every weekend.

At Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Once you go to one of these events here in Europe, you'll never want to go to another rave in Vancouver. It's a joke compared to these events.

Food/drinks? I heard it's pretty expensive there.

if you stay near dam square you won't need to use public transportation very much. i don't quite remember but it was like 1.60 euro to take the tram. and maybe 5 euro from the airport to central amsterdam station by train.
if you think you will use the public system a lot, look into getting the i.amsterdam card.
