Solitary cubicle jobs?

I posted on offtopic but I think I should post here instead.

I'm looking to work in a desk job where I just do my thing and not talk to customers. I get along well with employees, but I don't like dealing with customers and their problems...so that kind of rules out any support positions.

What is the quickest way through school to get a job like this, and what kind of jobs would these be?

I don't mean to veer off topic but I have an important question to ask you:

Why is it that you'd rather just sit at your desk and do your own thing rather than talk to customers? Do you mean customers as in face-to-face external customers or internal customers?

You probably ask "What's this jackass' problem?" The reason why I'm asking is, "Why limit yourself to such a position of solitary confinement?" Are you really socially inept or do you feel that you're that much better of a person where you don't have to deal with "customers?"

Truthfully, it's a very narrow-minded way of thinking in terms of the growth and development of your future. Hey, I work in a desk job where I may not necessarily talk to external customer but moreso, internal customers and bloody hell, they can be just as bad, if not worse, than external customers.

Just some food for thought.
