Hi to all computer techy

I have been looking for a NAS for Home (need to add 2 X 1TB SATA2 HDD) for back up purposes. May I know which brand name is better: QNAP or Synology.

Please advise.

Main complaint I have with this one is that it runs pretty hot, so I left one side open and have a case fan blowing at it.

i think my dlink DNS323 works great

+1 for the Dlink DNS323. I've been using mine since the summer and it works great. Fan isn't that loud and i keep it in an open area so it doesn't get too hot.

Thanks for all your replies. Ended up getting a used QNAP TS-209 II with warranty and will receive it next week.
