Nice.. they have some other decent deals too. Harmony 550 for $70. 16GB Flash drive for $27.... man, i gotta get out there.
Awesome router for a very good price.
We sold out @ $89.99 in no time.
Too bad they're discontinued now and the DIR-825 is substantially more expensive while offering only a slight improvement and 'future-proofing'.

hey guys why does my Wireless connection suck with this router?
my Wii cannot even detect it, the Wii is upstairs and probably as far away from the router as u can get in my house, but it's not more then 65 feet from the router?
even my old WRT300N could at least connect from time to time with the Wii, now with this brand new suposidly better router i cant even detect it?
any of these advanced wireless settings i should fuck with?

my wii connects to it fine. I've been using this router for quite some time and one in every house i live in. its even works great with the PCCW 100Mb fiber line. Its just able to handle so much traffic.

The Wii does support WPA/WPA2.
From Nintendo (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/onlineWirelessRouterWEPWPA.jsp)::
There are several different WPA variations. The Wii is compatible with:
* WPA - PSK (TKIP)
* WPA - PSK (AES)
* WPA2 - PSK (AES)
It would suck if only WEP was available. No one should be using WEP anymore.

apparently, the DIR-655's USB port can now act as a print server or NAS port for USB HDD with the latest firmware!

apparently, the DIR-655's USB port can now act as a print server or NAS port for USB HDD with the latest firmware! The software to enable it is god awful at this point. It doesn't work properly with either my XP machine nor my Vista 64-bit machine.
Maybe after a few more revisions, it might be worthwhile.
i got the dr615 for $40..is it worth the price?..or should i pay the extra for the 655?

i have this router, and it just bit the dust about 2 weeks ago... besides my 100$ router now being a paper weight, it was pretty good

Anyone using alternate firmware on their 655 or 625? If so, which one, and does it support VLANs?

hell yeah, thats what im using...
network's been up for 44 days, prior to that 100 something.. and the only reason why i had to reset it was because my WAN IP changed.. lol
is there a "N" version of the WRT54GL equivalent?

if u download a lot of BT, the 655 can handle it fine, those WRT54GL are too slow to process all the traffic. its even more noticeable on my PCCW 100Mb line, any router thats not gigabit will crash once there is BT downloading.
the DIR825 is even better

^^^
I have found that the killer is DHT. Turn that option off in BT, and you'll have no problems with router barfing. I'm still running 100mbit on my networks, and have zero issues with BT.
