Morning guys,

Excuse my ignorance with the stock market. I'm a noob.

I noticed on my Online Direct Investing account that I'm not able to click on this "HOU" Stock that I have. The Buy/Sell option is gone as well for this particular stock. The other stocks I have are fine though, as they still let you click into it and the options for buy/sell are still available.

Also the the market price listed for HOU on the account says $1.97 when the current price is at $14.15.

Why is that?

Thanks in advance.

This is something you should really be asking the company you hold the account with.

Can't help you with the first question but HOU did a reverse split (1:5) last week. When you look at the shares you're holding in your account, you'll have 1/5th the amount you had before.

Also, i don't know if you're holding HOU long term or tend to trade it, but if you're looking for a long term play on oil (to hold), then i might suggest against HOU. HOU buys the front month crude contract and there can be an erosion of value when it sells near the switch over date and buys the next month contract. This happened a couple weeks ago when it bought feb and sold jan (Jan was lower than Feb).

Thanks guys.

I called and they said because of the reverse split it's in the process of updating. It should be back to normal in about a week.
