if you push beyond 50 in, you need it to be better than 720
then again, HDMI xbox on 42 in on my 720 P is already orgasmic.
to tell you the truth 50% cable = crappy pic
20% avi movies
30% gears of war
i'm fine with my 42 inc.

Dont want to create a new thread for this so here is my question:
Plasma vs LCD, which one has longer life before you have to replace the burnt bulb?
Is it worth replacing the burnt bulb or just buy a new TV?

either will last long enough until the current technology is obsolete

Plasmas are usually considered the technology that has the shortest life span, but to put things into perspective:
I think most modern plasmas are rated about 60,000 hours of watching ....That's almost 7 years of continuous watching!
(LCD is ~70,000-80,000hrs)
I highly doubt you'll use your TV 24/7, so, even at 12hrs per day, you're up to almost 14 years of life.
In other words, you have better things to worry about :)
