Is it easy to do?
Basically, I want to go from a 3 cell to a 6 cell battery on a netbook. Would it be better to get a pro to do this?

No, all you have to do is buy the right battery, and pop it on. Unless you have one of those new MacBooks that have an integrated battery, and will become completely useless after 2 years.

(kidding! it actually is really easy on 99.99% of laptops)

What's your laptop model? Don't have it yet. Was just wondering if it was easy.

Have not shorted out any motherboards to date! Or killed any CPUs. Or anything like that.

Wouldn't the easiest thing be to simply order it WITH the high-capacity battery? Probably save money too, as you're not buying the smaller original battery...

not every laptop has a higher capacity battery to it.

Well if she's asking about swapping it herself, there must be one available, no? Either that, or if she hasn't bought the laptop yet, she might want to consider one that's available to be ordered WITH the better battery.

I'm not ordering it. It's being given to me.

there is always the option of an external battery that plugs into the AC port of your laptop. a universal power supply as it were.
