Are you fucking kidding? Number 1, Vietnam is a shit hole so nobody would want to work there unless you give him a large hardship allowance in addition to a decent salary. After you cover the cost of your expatriate cook, you'll realize that you've just priced yourself out of the market since nobody in the third world can actually afford to eat in a pricey restaurant just because you happen to have a Caucasian chef from the Middle Ages.

for 2-3 months, it could be either a great experience or a nightmare..
if you're ambitious and a risk taker this could potentially be fun i suppose.
its unreasonable to expect a great salary for something like this.

thanks guys for these comments.

@marco911, LOL let me ask you a question. have you been to vietnam? if not please do not post false facts.

@unit, totally agree.!

Well like i said, i am looking for someone btwn the ages of 18-30. And only for a couple of months. so meaning that this could be a great opportunity for that person to travel to vietnam if he never been there OR for that person to try sth new. Like i said food and living expenses will be covered and plus u get monthly allowance.

You can say this is similar to a post secondary co-op program. take it for what it is. This thread is real, no not shitting you.

So for those of you who want to see the world, well ok vietnam, call the following number. 778.893.3606

seems like it could go either way.

i'll let it stay, and say this.

Beware of what you're getting into. if you're interested but wary, call the guy. set up a meeting, get as much info as you can. make an educated decision. this could be a golden opportunity for someone to learn some honest ethnic cooking.

or it could be a total cock up, but the decision is yours to make, just make it a smart one.. no one is holding a gun to your head saying you have to go.

from here on out, lets keep it clean.

since when did only white people represent Canada???.....
Theres no really incentive to go aside from seeing Vietnam, Everything there is dirt cheap (food, accomadations) so im gonna go on a limb and say whoever thinks this is an awesome deal could get owned real bad..

I've been to vietnam 2x, and i honestly think with the dollar to dong ratio, going there to make it rich is not going to happen. This would be more of an adventure/work for food type thing.

@supafly. I did say that it would be an adventurous trip, you get to travel and visit and get paid. I never said you would become rich after, but just an opportunity. But thanks for the reply.

Yes in vietnam every thing is cheaper. But in some places food/clothes/expenses are same as Canada.

Where abouts in Vietnam? What are the exact dates? Flight cost i assume would be the responsibility of the cook? what type of hours? days or weeks off at any point to travel? Type of restaurant? cuisine?Hours?
I was in Vietnam in Nov and i totally would of helped you out if i was still in country. I may have a few friends i could pass this on to however. Vietnam is in no way a "shit hole". Although they certainly have some catching up to do on the infrastructure...ie. highway system.

Thanks guys for taking a look at this and thinking about giving it a shot. Well it takes place in Ho Chi Minh City. In district One. There are no exact dates, but i would want the cook to arrive before the end of Feb. Yes it does seem like a rush, but i will make sure the cook gets looked after. However if any of your frds are really interested please pm me for more details. I will make sure the cook gets properly taken care of in the 2-3 months of stay in Vietnam.

Yes thanks, Vietnam is not really in the shit hole but yes really need to have a LOT of cleaning up to do. :P
