Has anyone got their car there?
It just me or has anyone think that their service and prefessionalism have gone wayy down these couple years...its becoming like some shady 2nd hand dealership imo.

Funny you ask. Both have taken care of us. But our family has been loyal to autowest for a long time. When BMW was where Infiniti was, we got 2 cars there and all servicing done. Then BMW moved and we got rid of both bmws and got 1 infiniti and a toyota. We've taken the G there and it was fine. Just make sure to get them to not wash your car.

was going to buy the fx there. but the sales we got will only give us like $500 discount, the guy was very cocky and claims that $500 is the most anybody in any dealership in GVD will give for the new 09. he won't even give us a single rubber floor mat.
End up going to the coquitlum dealership and got around $3000 off with mats.

It's simple. When they (BMW) moved from the Automall, their staff back then was split to accomodate their then-new Infiniti dealership. What ensued after was hiring new service advisors for both dealerships. It has only been a year or so and the new advisors have yet to get up to speed with alot of the service and professionalism that Autowest used to have back then.
However, Rome wasn't built in one day and it takes time to culture and train everyone up to expectations set out by Mr.Joachim Neumann & Pete Sargent, who built Autowest BMW from ground up. If there are any concerns about customer service, or you'd like to voice your concerns, they do have a customer relations department that will gladly listen to you.
the difference between Autowest BMW and others is, they are willing to listen and make changes if it's reasonable. Give it a shot.
Marlyn is the customer relations manager, try emailiing her and tell her what you see.

I do some of the insurance for both Infiniti and BMW, and after talking to the clients, almost all of them say they that they had a reasonable good experience.

autowest bmw sucks when it comes to after sales service.
their receptions are rude, and are impatient. I rather go to bmw park shore, or burrard one, even if it means a longer drive. at least you get a bmw loaner, instead of a smelly yaris sedan.

i bought a used fx from them and ive never had any probs with their service. i think they are great!! i think this is your 3rd thread you started on how you hate aw infiniti=) lol did 1 of the techs sleep with your gf or something??!! lol jk!
iono everytime im there they deal with me professionally and not as uptight as some other dealerships. maybe YOU`RE just hard person to deal with?? if you`ve ever worked in any kind of sales/service job then you know some customers are just ASSHOLES!
dont take anything i said personally, just my 10cents...minus 8 cents for great service equals to my 2 cents=)

couldn't agree more, i live in richmond, owned 3 bmw, none from autowest.
so the minus is :
1) rude receptionist(s)
2) impatient staff (specifically which ones?)
3) non BMW courtesy cars (is it all the time?)
anything else ? please feel free to add to list.

If you want a decent salesman at Autowest BMW, I recommend AM GREWAL.
I worked with him for over a year at Cam Clark Ford and he's a stand-up guy.
He's also a buddy, so tell him Rich sent you and he'll take even better care of you.

If you have time to make a post, why not give their Customer Relations a call to express your concerns.

My old car was from Jessel. But I brought in to Autowest BMW for service once, didn't get the result I wanted, brought it to Jessel and it was all good. Then eventually I met one of the Service guys a AW BMW, and he helped me make sure things got done properly. So I went back to AW BMW for service the last year of my lease because it was closer. But in all reality am far more impressed with BJ BMW service. They call you to remind you, arrange a similar car, someone escorts you to the lounge to wait until the courtesy car comes. Then when you come back it's pretty much the same pleasant thing. My experience with AW Service was ok, but no call, you have to ask for a car, and it seems more impersonal.
The sales guy I can say I wasn't too pleased with @ BJ BMW. As I was nearing my lease end, I was originally planning on pre ordering the 335 coupe, and man.... you'd think, 2nd BMW from same guy and he would take care of you. Nope. I had to call him every couple days for him to say he'll call me back. Which he didn't and it went on for 2 weeks. I just needed to know how much to bring for downpayment. Finally called me back, and I lost the urge. Just returned my lease and called it a day. I even went back months later to look at used cars, same guy saw me and again same thing, I told him which cars, he said he'll call me back. And that was it. No call back. So I ended up elsewhere.
A good salesperson should keep you excited about a purchase, and keep you in the loop. Not tell you he'll call you back, and not call back several times.
So most the time, I think it's the people themselves, not the dealership as a whole. Maybe if Autowest had better management they could sell as many BMW's as Brian Jessel.
I've walked into AW Infiniti a couple times looking, I had no issues with them. Service was friendly, was quiet inside, but pricing wasn't what I was hoping. Even with a couple friends working there, they all said that it was the Sales Manager what is anal about pricing. They ended up recommending a couple people they knew that might be able to "hook it up" better. Sad when sales people have no power and have to recommend you to other Infiniti/Nissan dealers.

Two of my buddies went to repair their cars in AW BMW, and they both got horrible services. First they tell you that you'll need to fix one thing for X amount of dollars, then something else comes up with more charges, and same problem arent even fix. They just keep adding charges, both of em end up paying $3000-5000 for some stupid repair, which cost less than $1000.
Not to mention their sales are just rude.
I think they've got the worst service in lower mainland. I've bought my X5 from BMW store with a friendly salesman, and got great services in BJessel where I get my regular maintence done.

bmw has been good to me. everyone was really friendly and i could always book appointments within 3 days.
infiniti on the other hand has left me with a really shitty impression. my friend and i dealt with this old chinese guy and he was such a rude, condescending asshole. when we were asking for a discount, he replied with "do you have any idea how this works? i can't just give you a discount without receiving a deposit first!"

This exactly what happened to me,
I came in autowest infiniti three times for the same problem and at the end it still couldnt be fixed, and they kept on discovering new problems and I found out one of the damage was actually caused by them.
Very unprofessional, let along the rude and arrogant service . Note I was always in a very polite manner albeit their shocking service. Totally unimpressive and unbelievable.
The sales I met was ignorant too, he had no idea what he was talking about and just bs his way thru. I was kind enough not to poke his lies infront of him because i didnt want him to look bad and cause an arkward moment.

Yah, so this is their routine ridiculous bullshit. I went down there today with my frd to discover that, with all the money my frd had spent, they said they can't guarantee there is no more problems. WTF!? I've never heard of this shit! Honestly, I would never go there again..Expecting people to pay for their miss diagnose? And not guarantee the problems to resolved.
I dunno why people are still going there?
so the minus is :
1) rude receptionist(s)
2) impatient staff (specifically which ones?)
3) non BMW courtesy cars (is it all the time?)
4) mis-diagnosis causing more damage/cost
5) non-guaranteed repairs
6) non personalized service
7) no service reminder call(s)

Pumbaa : have you/your friend talked to a manager about this yet there? If it is unsatisfactory don't just talk to an advisor, bring it up with their production service manager or service manager, and/or customer relations manager to find equittable solution.

So far we just talked to the advisor, which he would go back in fourth with his service manager, and the best they could offfer for all this mess is $2600repair with 15% discount. But we shouldn't have to pay for the previous $1800. On top of all this, if they were professional enough, they should of told us to get the ICBC claims right at the beginning, not until we paid for 1800.

Well I'd suggest talking to the manager directly and voicing your concern again as to why you shouldn't have to pay for the initial $1800 if it was caused by misdiagnosis. That's what service managers are for. As for conduct wise, customer relations manager is there also for you to vent and have them see your point of view as well.
I do know, getting all worked up on RS about it will not help your situation or wallet, and i think talking to both customer relations and service manager directly would have a better chance at reaching a mutual agreement on this.
I know, I know how angry you feel.. give the alternative a try first.
Good luck, please post back here of how it went after if you choose to take my suggestion.
