Is the snow done for the year? Time to unleash the car?

So I'm still rollin' around in my POS winter beater. Do you think it's ok to renew insurance for my regular car now?
If it snows again I'll have to stash it back for another month, but this time I'd be paying the expensive insurance for nothing.
What do you guys think? Have you guys put your nice rims back on yet? Still riding steelies? Still got snow tires on?
How much longer you gonna be in Winter Mode?
I just want the general view :)

You do know that we're only one month into Winter, right? We often get snow right through the beginning of Spring.

Haha yeah but after that crazy December I would have hoped we're all "Snowed out" and yes it's still cold but no more snow?..
Wasn't it last year that we didn't get ANY snow until February?

why do every year we need like 3-4 threads on when its good to go back to summer mode... there was the "when to go back to summer tires" (like last week).. now the "summer car"... im sure there will be a couple more soon... "when to use my summer jet?"
when do you guys think its a good time to start wearing shorts? ankle socks? going to the beach?..... use your thinker, before you tinker

why do every year we need like 3-4 trolls on when its bad to start a thread about going back to summer mode... there was the "when to go back to summer tires" (like last week) that you already trolled.. now the "summer car"... im sure there will be a couple more soon that you can troll... like "when to use your trolling skills to post another useless comment in another thread?"
Not all of us sit on RS 24/7 reading every thread. The other thread was last week so it's definitely not on the top page of threads.
I guess I could use the Search function and type in .. 'Summer' or 'Winter' (?) and sift through 50 other topics instead of just asking a simple question and get it answered without such irrelevant input. Thanks.

We got a bit of snow last April for a few days there. I remember because it was 3 weeks after my son was born, and i was driving my mom in from the airport.
And it's definitely colder this year, so I wouldn't bank on us being "snowed out" for awhile. Radio called for flurries tomorrow actually.

I got my suspension in my garage and installing it on the next next weekend. Can't wait anymore :(
It had better not snow after I install it and get a 1" drop. Knock on wood, fking retarded weather.

I don't get why people with two sets of tires are so eager to put their summers back on... I mean you might as well use your winters... it's not just for the snow. And really, I laugh at the guys rolling around in their 19 inch 35 profile summer tires in the winter.

It's still JANUARY.
[/thread]
Keep it off the roads for now, the weather is still unstable, warm and cold, up and down on the scale, I'd just hold off on it and stick with the beater. I'm tempted to bring out the summer(wheels) myself, but if you have a beater car just stick with it, with the conditions like this the risk doesn't only come from you, it's others around you, over/underestimating the conditions.

it's not the snow, but how cold it is. chances are you have summer tires on your summer car.
temps are still hovering around 2*, so your tires will be absolute shite. play it safe, it's only January.

i'd not put on my good wheels, cuz of the salt... and all that.
I got my car nice and clean already, and it took 2 days....

I have never taken my snow tires off till mind or end of April.. but my car is parked this year..
Their is something to think of here, ICBC may A big maybe may not cover you if you are is in a accident with tires that don't meet the road conditions on. Would you really want to take a chance with your car that you love over this, or even if you hurt someone or a family member over this too..
I know most people here on rs have nice car with a lot of work done on them, and some with big money into them too, I know most people here miss there car just like me I miss my car too, but your car will still be their when summer come's..

Final answer... No, don't get ready to pull your summer ride out of the garage or storage yet. Winter has barely stepped into the house and taken off its shoes. We've still plenty of months left to deal with sub-zero temperatures, black ice, snow and ice salt before you should even think about pulling out your summer tires, fancy rims and summer-only rides.
