^ROFL. MSRP @ 40k is good value for a 3.7L coupe

People would get used to the rather "ugly" looking new cars.

It's somewhat happening to those who hated the 08+ impreza..

I think Nissan Canada is trying to reduce the parity between US and Canadian pricing. The US 350Z was in the 30's, while the Canadian version was high 40's and into the 50's.

I'm glad to see reduced pricing for the 370Z. And I agree with ShyGuy, 370Z>350Z.

That's more reasonable than the previous 350z consider US start at $29,900.

very possible

I also wonder why G37 coupe wasn't selling as good as before.
You rarely see a G37 coupe on the street compare to couple year back when G35 introduced.

what's with the "SynchroRev Match Manual Transmission"? Is this a new technology?

I read a little about it on the Nissan's site. When this thing is on, you can just downshift and the computer will do all the rev matching for you. So no more manual rev matching? where's the fun in that :p driving takes less and less skills.....

What do you guys think of this SynchroRev Match MT?

Wow, I'm really excited to see that MSRP. I love the new look of the Z and was hoping to buy one for my next car. I wouldn't pay 50g's for it, but in the 40's? Suuuuure! I'll take one in white please.

I second this. Spec wise, it's impressive for the money. Look wise, well.. you'll learn to appreciate it. It's not entirely THAT bad.

WIth the current economy prices are coming down, that and the 45k range is getting pretty darn competitive. 1st company 2 capture the money wins! On the design note I'm not really feelin' it.

I think it is a great feature if it works as well as they say. Basically the computer rev matches for you on downshifts. So no need to heel and toe.
Turn it on when you are at the race track. Turn it off when just having fun by yourself.

hahaha.

The 370Z is one ugly looking car and it should have been priced around the US pricing of $30,000.

I guess it takes time to grow like most new cars. If you compare the side of the 370z to the old 350, the 350 is starting to look outdated haha :(

I think Nissan Canada is trying to reduce the parity between US and Canadian pricing. The US 350Z was in the 30's, while the Canadian version was high 40's and into the 50's.

I think it could be a combination of both? Also, I think they reduced the price to try and stay competitive. The new STi wagons were priced cheaper than the older model sedans. and the BMW 135i starts at 41k CAD.

As for the SynchroRev Match MT, I believe it is an optional feature ($$$). And from what I hear, you have to push a button to turn it on. I bet half the ppl who have it won't know what it even does.

is still a nissan, so i don't think they would want the price to be too much, cause i think they do want to separate the market between the G37 and 370z.

Man nice price. If Honda ever release the next gen S2000 (after the economy restablizes), I wonder if they'll make its price competitive too.

I think it looks fine but engine is too big. Fuel Guzzle guzzle guzzle if it's a DD.

I found some info on the Synchro Revmatch system:
http://jalopnik.com/5114318/nissan-370z-syncrorev-match-stick-shift-tech-turns-average-joe-into-super-driver

Interesting in reading how the system works. Looks like you have push a button to turn it OFF (I said earlier that you have to push a button to turn it on).

I will say one thing and that is for $41,000 you sure in hell are getting a whole lot of car. I mean for $41,000 you can pick yourself up a bare 328i coupe.

Edit:

I hate to eat my own words but I'm starting to like the 370z. I did a quick search on eBay and I actually think white with the orange/tan interior looks hot.

IMHO if I have the option to turn the revmatch option off, I would feel a bit dumb turning it off. Although it'll be more fun to drive with it off, I would personally feel like I'm deliberately picking the slower option, and people would think you're a retard if you miss a shift or something.

the design resembles the 240Z more now, which imo looks good and better than the 350Z

i think that doesnt look good on the 370 is the rear bumper... weird shape around the exhaust tip area

HOT HOT HOT, look much better than 350Z, not to mention it's lighter, faster and smaller... good price but I also want the sport package (+$4000)... too expensive for me at the moment, two or three years later... I may be able to get one...

This is getting to be so much more affordable than the 350z.

At least you can say "I bought this car" than "It's a birthday/christmas/graduation gift from daddy"

I think the performance was focused on the cayman when they're developing it. The reviews put it against the 135i because it's roughly the same price and has identical performance.

The Z is pretty unique in the marketplace now - not many companies have 2 seater RWD cars in this segment at that price point.

You could go BMW Z4, the S2000, Audi TT, or the Boxster/Cayman. Price wise, you would be looking at base versions of those cars and they wouldn't be close to the Z in terms of performance. Even S2k's run 50k now to start.

If you don't mind 2+2's, you could do the Genesis Coupe, the new Camaro, the updated Mustang, or a G37.

Its growing on me a bit...but I still like the 350Z because it looks 'tougher'. I think when we start seeing these with nice wheels, lowered and headlights that don't looks retarded, it'll be a pretty nice ride - especially for the price!

It's quite obvious the car is now priced to be directly competitive to the Hyundai Genesis Coupe...

coz otherwise similar specs the 370Z can't be toooooo much more than the Genesis coupe. You wouldn't say the Genesis Coupe is a minger considering how the 370Z looks....

Didn't the 350Z have huge dealer markup when it was first released? This car is a great value.
