so after searching craigslist and usedvictoria i turn to Revscene for the insider island knowledge... I have a wii that neither the wife or I have played since we bought it over a year ago, i think i logged about 30 mins play time due to doing updates before unplugging it to stop the flashing light, but i was thinking i would mod it and maybe start to use it. Only issue is the only people i can find are on the mainland and I would prefer to do it local.

Anyone know of someone or a place that is local that will do a hardware mod and not the softmod for Wii's??

softmod works just as good if not better than a hardware mod nowadays. get to reading!

been debating the homebrew... i may try to rent zelda for an evening and give it a shot. I would sooner get the hardmod as it sounds more reliable.

Have you done the softmod? i read it doesn't play all the games.

edit: and no SDHC...a crap i don't know if I have just an sd card

SD card costs all of like $5 from ncix.com or futureshop. the rest you can pretty much just download.

If you have your heart set on a hardmod, I can install it.

i forgot to mention. if you get a SD card for the Wii, make sure to not to buy anything bigger than 2GB since it won't read larger cards.

i'd pick up a few if you want to load it up with emulated games or video's or whatnot. i have practically every nes/snes/genesis game on SD cards. oh and get a Gamecube controller. i got two of em from amazon for $12

Well i have to go to futureshop sooner or later to buy stuff i really don't need but really want in time for sunday.... I will check out the price of SD cards.

Question but i will google it later as well can the wii be connected to a home network to stream games?

you can't stream games but you can download them and run them from either the DVDROM or SD card depending on if its a downloaded full game or emulated.

Paradox,
do you have a copy of zelda i could borrow for a day?
