Much discussion happened this week when this photo started appearing in email boxes and blogs across the city.

Then it appeared in the Vancouver Sun on Thursday attributed to Scott Miller. Yet one of the commenters on my blog, Kat, insisted it belonged to Blair Kent. She gave me Blair’s email, so I sent him a note to explain the story behind the shot.


Here’s what he wrote:

I was up the mountain at 6:45 am last weekend and a couple of guys were beside me. When I got home I emailed the shots to numerous people and never realized how good they were. As it turns out they emailed their friends and so on.

My picture is now circulating around North America. A friend at work got the shot from his brother in Boston as an example.

The shot in the Van Sun is most likely from the Scott Miller.

I am getting tens of lectures from people at work why I never submitted the photo. My originals are 8-9 megs in size and the one you may have has been shrunk by 4x.

I just got the 12 x 18’s from Coscto today and they are amazing.

So there you go, the picture was taken by a number of different people at the same time. The one posted here is by Blair Kent.

The fog is gone. I miss it, it made for awesome photo opportunities! But...I didn't couldnt.

We live in an awesome part of the world. I've seen stuff like that in the valley as well. The new Golden Ears Bridge looks awesome in the fog. Overlooking the valley just west of Mopac Auto Supply on 200th St. is an awesome view when low lying fog just sits there at the break of dawn.
