It sucked away 2 years of my life, but that's okay. I couldn't really afford anything while working in retail, and Everquest was cheap entertainment, and I cashed out nicely when I was done.

yeap, i ended up selling 1 account twice for $200 each time lol, it was kind of fucked up i sold the account to a guy and he sent me a check, it was taking forever to clear so i told him to send me another, he sent me another and both cleared shortly after lol, made like $400 for an account with a lvl 34 as highest haha fuck

anyways, anyone into MMORPG's doesnt even know unless they played EQ, i can honestly say i havent played a game since that was so enthralling/entertaining, WoW couldnt even touch it

CS junkie here.... Used to play for insane amounts of time. Played on some CAL-M teams and even had a sponsor for awhile. I keep my computer on a level where I can't play the new games to keep me from playing them.

I have never and will never play WoW. I don't even have any friends that play.

i tried WoW for 15 minutes and quit lol.. * can't wait for Diablo 3 & Starcraft 2.. (Just a casual gamer).. I was addicted to conquer online for about a year.. then another 10 months or so for zero online..

I don't really see a problem with video game addiction. It's always normal when an experience is new and exciting. But like everything that was once exciting, it all gets old and boring. (hell, even sex can be like that)

IMO, this really only affects people who nothing to look forward to in their lives. Other than that, it's a great filler when you don't have much going on at the moment.

the only game i still enjoy online is GTA4 because im not forced to go toe to toe with the obsessive players. if i do encounter one, i can just act like an idiot until they leave me alone (continually wield no weapons, run circles around them, blow myself up, etc). or i can run off to another area where they aren't. im getting so sick of playing most of my other video games online. halo, cod4, gears, etc - all games i love but there is no fun to be had online because of the people who obsessively played them since their releases. i want to play these games online but only the first few months are fun. i might as well trade the game in after that unless ive finished the offline content. i don't trade them in because i still cross my fingers and hope to find a match where i have a fighting chance to win.

diablo 2... possibly the most addictive game ever. and the most pointless. no guilds, little human interaction, etc...
pretty much just you killing the same bosses over and over and over and over again (i could beat meph in 1min, loot, exit, make new game, do it again).

now i play wow and it pretty much owns me, but only b/c i play w/ a lot of friends nowadays. take the social aspect out of wow, and its truly a pointless game.

i remember i used to love playing cs.. but when you take on a gaming addiction it becomes more of a lifestyle... its weird really. Back in high school these guys would always be playing and talking about "last nights game". They would even spectate 2 teams playing against each other. /big frown

I would spec Cal-M and Cal-P matches all the time. Its how you learn new strats and tactics. I used to compare it to playing a sport though. With CS you have a team that works together and devises strats to complete a goal. Just like sports. You need to practice and study "game tapes" to see how to play better. The only difference is your sitting at your computer (or in my teams case LAN center) it's different than other sports though in the fact that you don't really get anything from it. Nothing physical except hand eye co-ordination and you don't get "tired" from playing so you can play for 15 hours straight.

Play MS for awhile. It got really boring and suck with thier cash shop items. Giving ppl who spend tons of money an unfair advantage. Not to mention all the drama going on(Guild hogging the boss day and night and wouldn't let anyone else go in). Yes MS is dumb only 1 channel will have boss and the famous/jerk/asshole guild whould hog it all to themselve so no one can go in. People can buy 2x exp, 2x money , 2x drop...... cards......

I have the same exact problem with final fantasy! I can't just play through the game without getting every thing the game offers.

Example would be Valkyrie Profile 1 and 2. I had to get all the characters in the first one, and adding Seraphic Gate racked up another 30-40 hours onto game play.

Worth every penny though :thumbsup:

^have you ever played an FF game and spent countless hours getting your guys super strong, then beat the boss in like 2 hits?
i did in FFX. got mindy (magus sister) so powered up, she randomly did that bee attack that hits 13 times for 99,999 dmg each shot. thats 1.3m damage off one move! totally unfulfilling when you see all your hard work amount to a 2 min last boss kill.
