So I have a 93 geo storm and would like to put a new deck in as well as some speakers. I don't know anything about car audio, so maybe you guys can help me?!
I'm not looking for anything amazing, but I want to be able to play cds(mp3 cds would be a nice bonus) and radio in my car. Maybe a plug in for ipods/mp3 players.
Do you guys have some good suggestions? Costs would also be nice to know, thanks
I got a JVC CD/MP3/aux in deck for 75 bucks from Best Buy...came with a remote...works like a charm.
For cheap speakers I don't think you can really beat Sony Xplodes...I've run a few sets of them and they take one hell of a beating and don't sound too bad either

You can pretty much get what you need in any brand for under $149 + install.
As for speakers, it's always a matter of preference. Some people love music and will pay to have everything sound smooth and not tinny. No one can really tell you what you will like because some music sounds worse than others on certain speakers.
You're better off picking a shop nearby and having a listen to couple different pairs.
Alpines aren't too bad if you're looking to spend under $100.
Otherwise you can try Hertz, Focal or Morel if you love your music and want something that sounds much nicer.
