: Beer poll

I'm not sure if this was done on RS before (don't remember). Here's a poll for beer. yes, beers.

I'll move this to the food forums after certain time but what are your favourite beers? The poll only allows 10 choices, but feel free to post your favourite beers if you do not see your beer on the poll

LOL, Cool thread, but I would have added a "Skip the beer gimme the booze" option I walk right past the beer and head for the Vodka. Just never got a taste for Beer. Growing up in the states, entire isles at the Grocery store were full of beer choices. One night we bought 30 different kinds of beer, I tried em all and the only one I could have developed a taste for was Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull. From what I understand, its supposedly on the bottom of the spectrum for Beer.

unfortunately, the poll only allow 10 choices. I picked the most common ones that I could remember.

Each different beer varies to each individual's tastes I suppose.
My favourite would be Innis & Gunn, followed by Rickard's (all) , Stella Artoise. If any of those are not available, hopefully Corona or even Coors are available. I never liked Kokanee but again, individual tastes.

keep the votes and beer names coming, it is interesting. Another thing to consider is, what types of foods go well with each individual beer.

+1 to Innis & Gunn

I found that Kokanee goes perfectly with just about any finger food (but I guess the same could be said for all beers lol)

IIRC it's Stella Artois (no "e"). Sleeman is also a brewery -- not a specific beer.

The list is notably lacking almost anything ale and heavier. Good stuffs:

- Boddington's Pub ale
- Kilkenny
- Caffrey's

You'd be surprised about what actually goes into Lucky Lager :D

Great68
02-04-2009, 09:15 AM
Can anyone tell me why Lucky Lager is so popular on the island?

To me it's just another piss beer, but at least it tastes better than Kokanee.

-La Fin du monde
-Sleemans
-Stella
-Alexander Keiths

The following are some that I hate and by that I mean I would never spend money to have them in my fridge only unless these beers were the ONLY options
-Bud
-Canadian
-Kokanee

Asahi Black
Guinness

Granville Island - Winter Ale!

Nobody tried G.I Winter Ale during the winter time? I ended up storing them by the flat in the garage.

If my options were limited to common domestic then I'd just go for a Coors Light.

Stella is Belgian.

In Order of Awesome.
Sleemans
MGD
La Fin Du Monde
Granville Island Honey
Grasshopper
Maple Ale

Stella tastes like Heinekken, but lighter.
MGD and Sleemans actually taste like beer and it's good, AND cheap. I don't see why you would pay the extra buck for a lighter beer. It's like.. Corona or Sleemans. Go for the Man beer.

Rickard's honey brown is gross. It leaves sediment in the beer pong cups...........

After binge drinking my way through first term I've acquired a distaste for beer; I'd rather get drunk off of gin or something. So now I just shotgun or chug beer, regardless of brand. Usually it's Pilsner. I picked Stella on the list cuz it's the most tolerable.

you have to go straight to the brewery in most cases to get their beer.
