Computer does not boot

I unplugged my hard drive in my comp and turned on the comp by accident, and now my comp does not boot at all.

More info needed.

Is the hard drive still unplugged?

Does anything show up on the screen at all?

It is not possible to damage a hard drive by what you described. You should recheck that all the connections are secure. Maybe you plugged it back together improperly. For example, you can mix up the connector on the IDE cable. Each connector is a different color. They are not all the same.

There are other possibilities like electrostatic damage.

The screen does not show a thing. The hard drive is plugged back in, and I checked to see all cables are connected, but I guess something could be damaged.

Try testing each of your RAM modules. Only put a single RAM module in and see if it could possibly be that.

If that doesn't work, it could be your video adapter. If it's onboard, then you would have to replace the motherboard.

Are you able to see it in the BIOS? is the drive firmly attached to the drive and motherboard including the power cable? What error do you get when you try to boot? is a CD or floppy disk in the computer?
