: Finally, Good news From Honda/Acura. TSX-V6

That's good news. Ignore the Unique front end, it's not a bad car with the 3.5L V6.

I have driven the 2009 6MT and it's a tortoise on wheel. Its 2.4L was TOO weak to pull the heavy body.

The 2010 Acura TSX will now be available with a 280 horsepower 3.5L V6, which is most likely the same 3.5L offered in the Accord. When you check off the V6 option box you also get new 18" wheels, a slightly revised front fascia and a retuned suspension.

Unfortunately the TSX is still not available with the SH-AWD system that's offered on the TL and RL.

Acura claims that the 2010 TSX is the first of many changes for the 2010 model year, Acura plans on revising all of its models for the new year.

Interior
Like all Acura models, the new TSX will feature an exceptional level of standard equipment, including leather-appointed interior, power moonroof, automatic climate control, a premium seven-speaker sound system with CD, AM/FM tuner, XM® Satellite Radio, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® , USB port and AUX jack music interface and more

Powertrain
A new TSX powertrain choice means performance luxury buyers can enjoy a 280 horsepower 3.5L V-6, with sophisticated VTEC® valvetrain control and a dual-stage induction system. For maximum performance and efficiency, the engine will be coupled to Acura's Sequential SportShift automatic transmission, with intelligent features such as Grade Logic Control and Shift Hold Control. If the driver desires, the Sequential SportShift transmission can also be operated manually, via steering-wheel mounted F1®-style paddle shifters.

+1

That said no doubt this is good news for Acura. The TSX should've had this a long time ago. Rest of the lineup still terrible though.

not a bad move, but Acura is still missing the V8.

and the V10 NSX.

What's the point?

I don't see too much that differentiates this between the V-6 Accord, and the additional weight over the nose can't help what was the TSX's strongest trait. Appears to be slushbox only too.

^ TSX-V6 will be offered with a 6-speed manual.

Only the accord COUPE offers 6-speed manual.

The marketing tripe usually mentions if a manual is available. I don't see said marketing tripe making any such claims here...

very nice! not too keen on the design though... IMO the 3rd Gen TL (specifically 07-08) is still the best looking acura to date.

Fail~ what's the point of a V6
waste a good K series engine
RDX I4 turbo should be there instead

if I want V6, I will get TL.

agreed, would have been lighter too in the relatively small car, and basically the same power

TSX with the 4cyl turbo and SH-AWD would be win. Would destroy the IS250 AWD and give a Japanese alternative to the 335xi.

true but... 1st gen TSX was already weighing around 14xx to 15xxkg which is the same weight as USDM V6 Accord

So weight wise? 4 banger or V6 is relative the same

AHahhaa, sucks for the 09 TSX owners,. they only can get 2.4L w/ the 200 or so hp engine.

Now the new one has a V6....damn

really? I4 on premium gas vs V6 on regular gas?
i dont know how much difference there will be but everytime I went to pump, I felt like idiot feeding premium gas to fwd 4 banger with 200hp.

I dont care if it gets V6, V8, RWD, AWD, fk that ugly sht.
wouldn't ride that unless it was given to me for free

The problem is that the 4 banger doesn't give decent gas milleage.

that Civic Si/TypeR thing is their bread and butter for performance globally now.... S2000 stoppage is worldwide so not worth noting. they have been selling that for 9 years now if you wanted one you should have had one in your damned driveway already.

The very last issue of SCC says it best. Economies changed, car shows, import racing and other festivities will never be the same. Fad chasers move on the electronics computer games and fashion. Hardcore fans can go on to own a sport compact of yesteryear, sport compact racing will lose its mainstream appeal. Those who really knows would park his favorite sport compact in the garage for their tinkling and projects pleasure but use a stock Camry for daily. In this case honda hopes that you will be rocking a bone stock TSX for daily.

It's just not of the best interest for Honda to pursue this "sports car for everyone" image they once were known for.

Now we have to count on Hyundai to feed this niche market. What do people usually say about young people? They are energetic, willing to take risks and are more likely to take it all out. Same goes for companies.

That can be killed significantly with Rv6 cat delete. :D

After I did that, my torque steer is nearly gone.
Low end torque into high end power = win.

My main concern is what happens to the TL with the TSX getting this kind of boost.
