Kinda curious about this one, because it affects your ability to make eye contact with other drivers, as well as see in the dark etc...
Are smoke visors on full face helmets just legal during daylight hours or something?
What about gradient lenses?

Tinted visor at night is illegal, I believe. It's falls under the whole "no driver should have obstructed vision blah blah blah" section.

But really, you shouldn't ride with a tinted visor at night. I did that once. Bad idea. Never gonna do that again.

nah i wouldnt consider using it at night, if theres a chance i'd be getting caught out in the dark i'd at most use my gradient visor and a pair of sunglasses. I was just more curious if they're technically legal to use at all

This would be the section....saying that, I have never heard of anyone being charged or convicted for it. It might be considered driving without due care, in some circumstances, spoecially if a crash resulted.

Requirements for moving vehicle
195 (1) A person must not cause a vehicle to move on a highway if

(a) the control of the driver over the driving mechanism of the vehicle, or

(b) the view of the driver to the front or sides of the vehicle

is obstructed.

As far as I know there is nothing that deals specifically with wearing of sunglasses at night (Cory Hart fan?) but, as I said above in the visor comments, it could be a problem...specially in a civil trial when they only have to prove 51%.

coolio, i figured it was probably a common sense type of thing more than anything.
